Default Office Furniture Donations

I'll throw this out to the people of CP.

I have a couple of Office Desks that we are trying to donate. All are in new condition. I have called Women In Need and Scope Society (as these were the only ones to come up in a Google search) but neither are able to take them at this time due to volume.

We are needing them gone in the next couple of weeks and needing someone that can pick them up from our office.

Any idea of other charties that would accept these types of donations?

Goodwill specifically said no office desk donations unfortunately.

I had not thought of the schools before. I will give them a try.

If you can't get rid of the desks themselves, sell them and donate the money?

Post ONE picture on Kijiji and for the price of "You come pick them up".

They'll be gone within 2 hours.

Put them up on Kijiji/Craigslist. We've sold/given away some really old crap that we thought nobody would want. There's always someone.

And when people come for the desk they'll usually take all your other junk you don't want.

Yeah it's insane what people will take. We had someone drive across town within a half hour of posting a ten year old futon that was formerly the cat's bed.

Tried them. Either they don't pick up or they will pick up sometime in mid July which doesn't work.

Ended up going the Kijiji route and most of them were gone in 45 minutes. I believe the last one will end up in the Alley.

http://guesthouse.mennonitechurch.ab.ca/

I attend foothills mennonite and they have a house set up to support families who are here staying for an extended (usually) amount of time with sick family members at foothills hospital. They might be in need of some desks! and its a good cause!
