What's your favourite movie Trilogy?
Godfather, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Die Hard, Matrix, Jurassic Park, Rambo, RoboCop, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Matrix, Austin Powers, any others?
I've got to go with the Godfather or Star Wars. The first two Godfather flicks are two of the best movies ever, and the 3rd one is actually pretty darn good, it gets alot of flack, but I love it.
Star Wars is obvious, Luke, Leia, Han, etc etc, great characters, great story, and the best/worst dialouge of all time.

It would be Back to the Future, but the second part wasn't really up to the standard of the other two. So I am going to have to go with Indiana Jones. just some great swashbuckling movies.

Wow, really? I thought the 3rd one was the weakest in the trilogy, the 2nd one was awsome! I especially like the part where they go back to the 50's (again) and we re-live some of the classic moments of the first one.
Amazing trilogy... probably my favourite of all-time, if not for the music alone. Too bad about MJF, that guy was (is) gold.

I watched Back to the Future 3 again yesterday, I love those movies, just fantastic. You're right the 2nd one is the weak one, and its the same for Indiana Jones. I really don't like the second Indiana Jones movie all that much, bored me through most of it.. still own the box set however.
First and 3rd movies of both Back to the Future and Indiana Jones are great.

The original Star Wars for me, but all the ones mentioned are great. I own Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, LOTR and The Godfathers.

maybe I should watch godfather 3 again. really did not like it, but the first 2 are so strong that it probably gets my vote
although childhood bonds to the Star Wars trilogy are pretty strong
just trying to fill out your list, they made 3 Alien movies, didn't they?

I was going too, but they did make a 4th movie.. so I didn't add it because someone might have nitpicked.. but the first 3 are good movies for sure.
As for the Godfather, I dunno, I liked it. It had a great story to it and I like how it came full circle for Michael Corleone.. and "Just when I thought I was out.. they pull me back it" Great line.

Used to be Star Wars but George Lucas has ruined it for me now.
So LOTR takes it.
Honourable mention to The Karate Kid even though the 3rd one bit arse.

I think GF 3 is universally regarded as the worst of the bunch. I hated it, really long and boring... though the Vatican Banking scandal (based on truth) was a really interesting 'conspiracy', very cool.

Ha. Sorry I can't come up with a better comment, but you can't be serious. Those were the biggest piles of feces I have tried to sit through. Horrible acting, horrible dialog, I hate the new fangled special effects, irritating characters.... no one has seen the third one yet, but if it is anything like the past two, it will be pure crap.
I did enjoy the original ones though.

Not really a trilogy in that they have no consitant story line between them but i'd say the monty python movies.
Or if i had to choose from that list the Indy films. Star Wars just doesnt do it for me and Goldmember was a horrible let-down.

To each their own... The acting was terrible, but that has been a knock on every single Star Wars movie. The action, and the story are what I enjoy about the prequels. Annoying characters? Nobody was more annoying than Luke in Episode IV...
I think the reason people don't like them is because the Star Wars universe as they grew up knowing it wasn't really touched in the prequels, it didn't have that "Feel" the Original trilogy had. But what you have to understand to enjoy the prequels is that the Star Wars universe as you knew it growing up "The Empire" up to Episode II wasn't even there yet. In Episode I we had those gay looking Yellow air plane starships, no X-wings or tie fighters, we had Droid army's instead of Stormtroopers.
The prequels should be looked at and enjoyed seperately from the Originals up until Episode III where everything will just "Take place exactly as I had forseen it"
I used to be the same way in regards to the Prequels and I actually didn't even watch them for over a year and a half but recently watched them again and what used to be a 7/10 I see them as 8.5/10.
I don't know if you care about spoilers or not, but you should read the Episode III novelization... a great read and it may very well at least a tad make you enjoy the prequels more. Everything just "Fits" now.
*shrug* I enjoy 'em

Bravo! Somebody else who isn't scared to admit that they like the Star Wars prequel trilogy!
I loved them, even though I haven't seen the 3rd one. They aren't as good as the orginal trilogy but I still like them. I found that people liked the 1st one, and quickly changed their mind when they heard that others didn't like it. The same thing with Episode 2, I was hearing how it was so much better than the 1st one, then it didn't take long for those same people saying it wasn't any good.
I'd be willing to bet that if Episode 1,2 and 3 were released in the 70's and 80's and 4,5,and 6 were now being release we would like the 1st three and we'd hate the last 3.

I'll back you guys up. I am enjoying the star wars prequels as well. They were both better than the last 2/3s of Return of the Jedi.
I don't get the excitement of LOTR either. I could barely sit through the 3 movies. Did nothing for me.
