Got tickets. Thanks! So having never been to one of these, what would be an appropriate time to show up?

Depends on how many people you're going with. If you only got the two I'd say 6:30 would be about the time you want to get there. The last couple I went to did not sell out, but the top sections were full.
All you need is the print out. There should be some employee that works for Alliance that will scan your print out, and let you in. But, as I did say they do give out more than needed to full capacity. So if this one turns out to be popular it could be full by 6:45 or so. Oh, and usually a lot of older people show up for freebies. Not a bad thing considering, but just fair warning.

Another screening for you guys down in Calgary. Maybe not the most manly movie, but I am sure many of you have mothers, wives, or girlfriends that wouldn't mind seeing it. This screening in particular seems to be running out fast, so don't sit by your screen thinking about it for too long. Enjoy!

Black Swan
Director: Darren Aronofsky
Synopsis: A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, BLACK SWAN stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). A Fox Searchlight Pictures release by visionary director Darren Aronofsky (THE WRESTLER), BLACK SWAN takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the duplicitous swan queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect. BLACK SWAN follows the story of Nina (Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who zealously supports her daughter's professional ambition. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her. 2011 Independent Spirit Award Nominee - Best Picture 2011 Independent Spirit Award Nominee - Best Director - Darren Aronofsky 2011 Independent Spirit Award Nominee - Best Actress - Natalie Portman less

A Darren Aronofsky film with Natalie Portman, sounds great to me. I Saw a few trailers a while ago and made a note to catch it when it's out.
Too bad it says the passes are all gone.
By the way, absolutely loved "The Fighter", Christian Bale was great and it's a cool little story. Got there 40 mins before showtime and the theater was about half full.

Wow, they did go fast. My bad. Hoping for a free screening of "True Grit" sometime next week.
Here is somewhat of a consolation prize for those in Victoria, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Hamilton, Kingston, London, Waterloo, Halifax, or St. John's.
Free passes for "The King's Speech"

And in the movie Portman and Mila Kunis share a lesbian scene! Worth the price of admission alone. Even better if it's free I guess though.

Yeah, my buddy and I wanted to see it just for that scene then leave. But, it's an Aronofsky film, so I'd force him to stay.
True Grit will win best picture from what I am reading though. That film is the one to see in a couple weeks. Also hoping Tron is better than Avatar somehow; but somehow doubt it with the newcomer directing it.
Sorry that all the passes ran out for Black Swan, they've been moving very quickly in general.

Another screening of "The Fighter", this Thursday at Chinook. This movie is gaining steam for the Oscar run, and is a great film to see for free! Remember they go fast, so try not to hesitate. Info is above, but just in case;
