Clearly this is more the type of strict policy that is required - something with teeth. But what are the chances the Donald Fehr would actally let something like this through? Not likely in my view.

that is much along the lines of what should be in place in terms of a steroid policy.

If you are a borderline starter or a borderline player I don't think the current penalties are near strong enough to scare guys off from using steroids and getting caught.

A ten game suspension is nothing when you consider that the steroids could have helped you reach the big leagues.

It's about time. Too bad it took the government to get Selig off his ass. He sure wasn't worried about it when Sosa, McGwire and Bonds were hammering them out of the park on a daily basis.

That will all depend on how long members of Congress can milk the steroids issue for their own personal gain. If they can pressure Fehr into agreeing, then great. But if it isnt politically expedient, I suspect both Fehr AND Selig would be happy to let the matter drop.
