Default Kid Friendly Mexican Vacation Spots

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of Mexican resorts that are kid friendly? We'd like All inclusive and my sons are 2 and 3.

Mayan Riveria is preferable.

Just looking to relax.

Paradise Village in Riviera Nayarit, just outside Puerto Vallarta. I'm now 20 however I've gone there every other year since I was 4 and my sister was 2 My Grandparents bought a time share there, and it is the perfect place for kids. It is not a place for teenagers to run around drunk, but is geared towards families and the older crowd. There are SO many activities in and around the pool all day for the kids to participate in, virtually everything you can think of, they have. They also have a kids club if you want to dump the kids for an afternoon and have a spa day, golf day, or whatever you would like!

Depends what kind of package you can get with all inclusive, as it can sometimes be a bit pricey. However that is coming from someone who has never had all inclusive before, as we own a place there so we just go and buy grocery's at the resorts mall.

It is the perfect place to relax, and since I've virtually grown up there, it is still my favorite place to go in Mexico! Definitely look into it, you won't regret it!

Edit: Just kidding I lied...I forgot kids under a certain age are cheaper or don't even have to pay at all for all inclusive. They have a pretty good all inclusive package sale going on right now, middle right hand side of the page!

When are you looking to go? Barcelo Maya Beach/Caribe have "kids stay free" right now, and Air Canada Vacations has some cheap flights with kids free in the summer (see cmydens "Confessions" thread). As I said in the other thread, I haven't been to this Barcelo, but it does have a kids waterpark unlike most places where the kids pool is a wading pool-type thing, and as with most resorts, there is a kids program but they almost certainly won't take 3 and unders. They do sometimes have mom/dad-and-tot playtimes. I think there's also a playstructure somewhere. I've been to Barcelos elsewhere, and this one gets good reviews, even from parents.

My 2.5-year old loves the pool and the beach. Throw in a playground and a shuttle and he would be in heaven. If he's entertained, so am I.

Barcelo Maya is a great resort for anyone, and there is a kid park there, huge resort, lots to do, highly recommend it.

Barcelo Colonial/Tropical are the hotels in the chain of Barcelo that has the kids play park in it. But I am sure if you stayed in the one of the other 3 (palace, beach or caribe) you can use it, just is a bit of a walk from the older hotels

A buddy mentioned the Barcelo as well. I'll have to look into those.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Club Med Ixtapa...on the pacific side but direct flight on Westjet. Been 3 times with my daughter, it is awesome. Best part is that it is not an 'adult resort' with some kid stuff...it really is a kid resort with some adult stuff. I see this as an important distinction because you will never get the stink eye from anyone if your kids are throwing food at dinner, having meltdowns, and doing all those things that toddlers do. The beach is awesome...sure the sand isn't white but it is smooth and rock free (lots of beaches along the east side are rocky). Club Med is also in a a bit of a cove so the water is pretty tame...again good for little ones.

It's kid friendly but the place is a wedding factory. If you don't mind having sections of the resort closed off because of weddings every day then it's nice. I should also mention that the beach at this resort is terrible, there's all that black crud on it. You're right though, great food and it's close to the Cancun airport.

If going to the Mayan, I'd suggest staying the Iberstar. Beautiful resort with excellent restaurants. They have a really good sushi bar.
