What a pitching matchup on tap for tomorrow. Roy Halladay against Randy Johnson. With the off day last Monday, the Jays skip Bush in the rotation and go straight back to Doc.
If there is any Jays game so far this season to watch, this is it. 7:05 eastern, on Sportsnet.
Yankee stadium + Halladay + Big Unit = Ingredients for a good old fashioned ball game.

Game is underway. Hillenbrand playing 3B tonight, and made a great barehanded play to get Jeter at 1st.

Great defense by both teams and great pitching. Jays squandered a chance to score a run last inning. And Vernon Wells needs to sit out a whole week and learn how to hit the ball again. Ugh.

Hinske hits a two run bomb in the 7th to put the Jays up 2-0. The pitching matchup has lived up to expectations.

Halladay is sick. sure Randy johnson is a good pitcher but he's no Halladay. Great game by the jays. this guarantees them with a winning record in april.

I do actually! He has more wins than all of my other pitchers combined (is there anyone having a better season than Kevin Millwood who has yet to get a win?Argh!) And 2 complete games gives me a bunch of points. Go Doc!!

Randy Johnson is still the man. The guy is 42 and still has it. Did you see the two back handed stabs he made? 9 strikeouts as well. It kills me that he's with the hated Yankees. But Doc was better today.
"That was a classic pitching duel," Torre said. "We're not hitting, but you can't diminish what that kid did tonight. He was dynamite. He was in complete control of the game."
And I like Joe Torre as well. At least I still have A-Rod to hate in pinstripes.

Wow. What a fabulous display of pitching tonight, and all in under 2.5 hours!
Both Halladay and The Big Unit were on their game tonight, and the defense on both sides was stellar.
One mistake was the difference tonight, and it also happened to end Hinske's rather long home-run drought.
Great game tonight, Jays have now won 4 in a row.

One of the most enjoyable games in a long time to watch. Game time of just over 2 hours. 2 great pitchers. By my count 5 defensive gems (Hudson, MacDonald for the Jays, Williams and Unit x2 for the Yankees). And all the scoring from on big hit. And the good guys won to boot.
Watching a game like this makes one realize why baseball is so great.
Jays the only team in the AL (I think) with two 4 game winners. Lilly just needs to get on track now.

Yeah, watching a great pitching duel can be a real treat in baseball. When both pitchers are on and throwing the ball for strikes the defence stay's on it's toes and also contributes some great plays. The game moves along quickley, and when teams threaten to score it adds to the drama. Considering April is just about to end there has been some great pitching duels this year. It's crazy that guys like Clemens and Johnson at their ages are still able to go out there and dominate the game with over powering stuff. Baseball players are often criticized for not being athletes, but tell me how you can't consider those two in particular to be great athletes.

good game so far today.
The Yankees rookie starter was cruising through 4 but it has come undone here as the Jays bats are starting to come alive now in the 5th.

koskie seems to be breaking out of his early season slump. He is 3-4 so far and just hit a HR to tie the game up. hopefully he can keep up this good play.

Damn, Zaun struck out with runners on second and third in the seventh. But at least it is tied now on a Koskie homerun.

I didnt think Bush would make it out of the 2nd given how he started. Very impressive performance for him to go 7 strong innings.
Into the bullpens... anything goes with these two teams.

Jays bullpen blows it AGAIN! Valiant effort coming all the way back but once again the pen just sucks. Another strong strong outing from a starter ruined.
