Default ebay issue

So I sold one of my old cameras on ebay and in the ad it said no international shipping and even on the ebay part it said no international shipping. Well this tard from Indonesia buys the camera. I did receive my money and sent him an email saying that I'm going to see how much shipping is to indonesia and let him know that I may just refund his money. Well I sent the item and when I got home I realized this ass canceled the transaction on Paypal. So am I screwed? I've got my receipt that I sent him the package and I took a few photos at the post office.

It's not much, it's only $82 but right now I'm just furious.

How did he cancel the PayPal? Was the transaction not confirmed on your end?

Yeah do some searching on the net theres a lot of scams like this. They typically will use a stolen credit card to make the payment. So between the days that you get the money and ship the product, Paypal will realize thats its a stolen card from visa and remove the money from your account.

Basically its not worth dealing with buyers outside of north america.

Yah, the money will be pulled from your account. If you are really foolish, they will trick you into sending back the 17 bucks that was extra. You also have now lost your camera.

As soon as something fishy happen, cancel it all. Looks like it is too late.

Have fun getting the money off a card that is no longer on the account and now there is a pre paid card on it. The guy has good feedback that is over 1000

Bought a nice set of slightly used golf clubs off it. Beats paying full price for new ones at Golftown.

I was trying to sell my MacBook on Kijiji and Craiglist for Calgary since all of you guys low-balled me here on CP, but all I got are scam email spams in which they are asking me to ship the laptop to Africa and India.

I just sold a $10k motorcycle on Kijijiji no issues whatsoever. Anytime I want to sell a set of my tix over face for a premium game, I usually have em gone in under an hour on Kijiji.

I just see no use for eBay as a seller. I have been ripped off twice by buyers on there, and their arbitration system never supports the seller, and you can in no way, ever speak to a human being. Just not a fan of the whole setup anymore.

I've never had an issue with Ebay other than this. Lesson learned that I will make sure that I will see where they're from before I even pack up the item

Think about it, why would a guy in Indonesia want your camera (from Canada)?

They have more advanced and cheaper cameras available. I just don't think they would bother ordering from a guy in Canada.

However, there is a chance it is all legit, just not worth the risk.

Indonesian Credit Card Scam This one is as old as the hills and is very basic. The item is purchased with a stolen credit card. The seller sends the item only to learn later the credit card is stolen. PayPal or the credit card company takes back the payment. You are out the item, the payment and you paid the postage to mail the item to the fruadster. This can happen anywhere. eBay calls this the Indonesian Credit Card Scam because it is more common with buyers from Indonesia and Philippines. To reduce the risk you might think about not shipping to these countries.

Exactly why you shouldn't deal with ebay.

Or, tell them it shipped and wait a few days before actually doing it.
