I'm holding an event, need tech advice

I'm holding an event with people coming in from out of town. The event requires basic registration info to be sent (possibly to a specific e-mail address -- name, birthdate, affilitation, etc.). I also need to collect a registration fee.

Any advice on the best way to handle this. Is there a web site I can use to collect and monitor who has registered, is paypal the best way to go about receiving the funds. Can I set something up easily and host it on my shaw webspace??

Thanks from me too... Also Is there any site I can use to make up a HTML type ( for someone wh doesnt know how to make one) newsletter to send out to potential attendees about the event?
