Denmark to annex the North Pole
No, this isn't a game of Europa Universalis. It appears Denmark is about to begin an attempt with the UN to annex the North Pole (geographic North Pole), along with a few other areas:

It is supposedly confirmed by the Danish Foreign Minister, but I can't read Viking:

Keep in mind this isn't the entirety of the Arctic, but certain areas, with the North Pole included in those.

Isnt Denmark the pimple of a country on the north end of Germany?
What claim do they have to the Arctic?

Moot point anyways, don't think either country has the ability to transport a good chunk of troops that far.

Personally, I think we'd feed them their lunch (mainly horse meat).
Seriously though, I would love it if they sent a ship up there and we blew it out of the water. Canada should start taking a "don't eff with us" attitude. People talk about need weapons and toys to protect our arctic sovereignty, but posture and attitude is number one. All the F-35s in the world won't help you if they are just for show and everyone knows it.

We have about 6 times the population of Denmark with about 6 times the people availiable for for military service. Their only obvious advantage is that they have manditory training at age 18 for adult males from 4 to 12 months depending on what they are trained for.
Canada should have an advantage in actual combat experience.
