Invermere bus/limo rental for golf tourny
Hey CP,
I've got a golf tournament in Invermere going this summer and we were looking into getting a bus/limo/cabs to take us back and fourth from the courses, so no one will be drinking/driving. There is going to be 12 of us for 3 days/rounds.
Anyone know of cheap limo/bus rentals that'd be willing to drive 12 golfers about 30mins each way all 3 days? Thanks

I think you're probably SOL with regards to finding someone in Invermere/Radium/Fairmont to provide this service - cannot see anyone operating a Limo or Bus service in the area when the entire town and surrounding area are serviced by a single taxi cab (not one company, one vehicle!). If you really want to to do this I think you'll have to bring in someone from out of town (probably Cranbook - maybe Golden) to come in with a bus each day and drive you around.
I would imagine the cost for something like that would be insane, you're better off renting one of those little mini cargo vans, driving it out and hiring a local to drive you around each day! Or, more realistically, each day one guy acts as a DD and does the days driving whiile everyone else lets loose.

I am not positive about Invermere, though I did attend an event last new years in Golden that had bus service - it is plausible.
Try phoning the local school board and finding out the bus company operating for them. Even if they can't help you out directly, I am sure they will point you to someone who can. Also, there are local touring companies that will almost certainly help out.
Don't expect to find a limo service though...

Invermere has one taxi, and it's missing a rear wiper blade.
Hire a kid at one of the courses to do it informally maybe?

Invermere/Windemere area has a couple cabs at most, as some of the guys at one of the first weekends we had out there 8 or 9 years ago, found out at 1:45am when they had to get back to Radium after getting dropped off at the bar earlier in the evening.
With a couple full pubs going on until 3am, not a lot of accomdations within walking distance, you can do the math that the preferred method of getting back to bed for the locals and visiting weekend golfers was to "keep it between the ditches".

Try Fundamental Events. I used them last year in Invermere for a driver and 15 passenger van.

I actually just remembered, I completely got a number for a 'party bus' at Panorama last weekend. We didn't end up using it, but the girl that runs it seemed nice (and sounded hot...but who knows) PM me if you want her number.
