Default Hotel Help!

Little help on hotels please! Looking to be at the season opener on the 8th and have never been to Calgary. Recommendations on hotels close to the Saddledome would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

GO FLAMES!

How much $ are you willing to spend?

The Hyatt is right on 7th ave (C-train line) and you take it right to the Saddledome.

I'ld like to keep it under $200 a night, but if quality and surroundings are limited than clearly I'll spend more.

If you're going to spend Hyatt money, might as well stay at Hotel Arts which is closer and walking distance to the 'dome.

It is Hyatt quality? I had heard that Hotel Arts was a bit run down.

Check out hotwire, pick one of the higher stars downtown. They're all close to the C-train.

Provided it's not stampede, I usually get the Hyatt or Palliser booked through hotwire for <125 a night.

Hotel Arts - can often find a good deal and its a real nice hotel with a cool lounge inside and walking distance to the dome.

Edit: more of a trendy vibe geared towards a younger crowd (under 60)

This might be an option. A couple of blocks off of 17th Ave. Take a short bus ride down 17th to near the dome, or short cab, or a semi-long walk down the red mile past pubs etc.
