No, I would say we're ranked 13th out of 14 teams there. With Netherlands being the 14th and in B group (Canada's is in A with Aus, Pak, NZ, SL, Zim, Ken) I don't see Canada winning a single match.
Add to that Canada was beaten pretty badly by Afghan the other day and Afghan didn't qualify (they only started playing 3 years ago I think). So Canada is in very tough.

Contrary to what I said Canada is looking decent in warm-up matches.
Almost beat one of the favorites in England.

Really good effort but came up just short in the end. Hopefully they pickup a win or two along the way.

16 run loss to England is nothing to be ashamed about. If they had gotten a few more runs out of the top order, it could have been a much different outcome.
Limited overs cricket can produce some wonderful upsets.

It's started!!!
These little teams aren't very good are they. Kenya just got bowled out for 69 against NZ and NZ isn't even that good!
I fear for Canada later today!

India opened up with a thumping win over Bangladesh.
Kiwis just demolished Kenya.
Canada opens up with a game vs Sri Lanka in half hour. The ground is huge and track is slow as pointed out by Russel Arnold and Wasim Akram. Sri Lanka is expected to win but lets hope Canada puts up a good fight.
World cup 2015 will be only 10 teams, already the minnows and even some of them top nations are speaking out against this decision.

Sri Lanka win the toss and have elected to bat first.

I'd really like to see Canada's top order get a few runs. It looks pretty fragile. Seems that omitting Billcliff and Barnett was not a good idea.

After a decent start the match has really gotten away from Canada. Sri Lanka only down 2 wickets and Mahela and Sanga looking in top form.
Right now is 229/2 after 37 overs.
Canada are looking at a chase close to 375 right now.

So much for that prediction...Canada fighting back, 290/5 with 4 overs to go. Still a huge chase but its somewhat attainable if the top order clicks.

They'll be lucky to get 100 at this rate. That top order is really struggling.
Hansra is 2 off of 25 balls. Sounds more like middle-order test cricket numbers.

I think we will see the death of ODIs anyways. Tests are still the proper form of the game and will never go away, but the future is Twenty20. The Twenty20 World Cup is always awesome and that's where the little countries have a chance to shine more so than getting pummeled here. They're also trying to get it onto the 2020 Olympics.

I didn't know Holland played cricket, I just saw that they put up 292 against England!
England will probably still chase it down though.

Holland did amazing last night.. that one guy had the best batting and bowling figures for the team.
Who do you think is going to win this year?
Are any pubs showing any of the matches?

I doubt any pubs are showing it.
As for as ODIs dying, I still think its bit early for that. You could probably get rid of other ODI tournys but national teams will keep playing ODI in their series and world cup is still a HUGE hit in sub-continent.
Obvioulsy the English (Ausies probably too) care more for the Ashes then the World cup but rest of the world really doesn't care that much for their series to put it ahead of the World cup.
Holland played well, they gave it all they had but their bowling isn't the greatest and the flat surface didn't much help either.
