Default Discount Brokerages - which one?

Need help from the CP collective brain

Looking to setup an investment account (to dabble in stock trading) - what is the "best" (lowest cost, best service etc) discount brokerage out there?

Don't we have one of these threads every 2 months? hehe

Interactive Brokers and you will never go back to those crappy Cdn brokerages. well except for registered accounts.

Canadians can get an IB account? Do we get the same ridiculously good prices as our American brethern, along with access to basically every stock exchange worldwide? Because if so, Scotia Itrade will be short one account by the end of the week...

Yup! only bad thing is they don't do registered accounts, so no self directed, resp, or tfsa accounts.

I said goodbye to etrade/itrade last March.
