What would you like to see in the next generation cars?

Just getting a list of ideas (for work) for an extra-curricular challenge. There are 3 catagories:

1. Human-car interactions - infotainment, etc

2. Sensors - what kind of sensors would you want to see?

3. Safety and Autonomous - what would you like to see?

Just curious for what the world wants

What would I like to see in the next generation cars? More passengers between 6-9 AM and 3-6 PM Monday to Friday.

Remember the Van Damme classic Timecop from 1994?? Well the movie took place in 2004 and the geniuses behind that masterpiece thought there might be cars 10 years in the future that could like modern luxury tanks and had voice commands that could drive you "Home" or "Work".

Something like that would be pretty sweet.

I don't want an engine on the front. I want all glass in front of me, so I can see everything with the best view possible. I also want an augmented reality dashboard, so that there are no buttons i have to touch; only virtual ones!

Plus, I want a backseat that is capable to hold three girls stretched out... er, I mean, a lot of room in the back for storage purposes.

- I want my car to talk to me in the voice of Kate Hudson, or maybe Simone Simons from Epica.

- As opposed to a GPS that suctions to the corner, I would like a dashboard mounted projector that shines the GPS image on the corner of the windshield as well as the centre console screen.

- Spring-loaded gripping rings in the cup holders for automatic size adjustment. Drop the cup in, cup holder ring grips cup. Oh yeah, deep cup holders too, cause the XL coffee from McDicks doesn't seemingly fit safely in a cup holder if driving up-hill.

- F1-style paddle shifters on the steering wheel. I know this is already available, but seriously, for auto or manual get the shifters on the wheel to free up space on the floor. - Adjustable pedal board. Sometimes when the wheel is the perfect distance away, the pedals are not. Lets make the pedals adjustable, or maybe easier would be to have the steering wheel adjustable back and forth as well as up and down.

- Headphone jacks, USB power, and AC power available to all passengers.

2. Sensors - what kind of sensors would you want to see?

Have an option to view a plethora of readings in real-time via in the console touch screen. Anything you can think of really.

3. Safety and Autonomous - what would you like to see?

- If someone steals my car, I want it to lock them inside and automatically contact the police.

- Automatically shifts into neutral if anything is struck while in reverse. Maybe automatically kill any music/radio that might be on at the same time.

- Warning light/sound if wheels are too close to the curb when parallel parking, or any other time for that matter.

I'm sure I can think of more, but in a rush right now.

Thanks Trad_Ale ... I was kind of serious in my post. I'm looking for more ideas on the side of, what widgets do you want to see that an electronics company can provide. Bolded are one's I can see being carried out (from the tech POV)

That probably sounds too dangorous for the general population.

I think cars are already doing that?

What kind of stuff? Sensors are becoming a hot feature in the electronics world (mobile, and auto).

I can see where you're coming from, but I can see lots of legal problems here.

This one's a great idea! I like it.

A single person commuter that does 80-100mpg. The logic of hauling around a 4000 lb car to carry a 150-400lb person makes no sense to me.

Everything else sounds good, Ferrari did this on a car recently. The problem with having all those controls on the face of the steering wheel is they can be hard to manage if the wheel is turned.
