Those seats have the most leg room. I try to get them unless it costs extra to pick it.

It's on the the wing actually outside the cabin.
Flight experience is average.

Get the bulk head seats. Lots of leg room there. In fact I had them on my flight home from Hawaii last January.

Looks like they're saving the bulkheads for the 24 hour check ins as the first few rows are unavailable on both sides, otherwise I'd have been on 'em like a fat kid on a smartie.

Less padded an issue, or are they just as good as the rest?

It depends on the plane and on which exit row you get. I've been happy/excited that I got an exit row seat before. When I got on the plane I found out the exit row I had chosen had no extra leg room, plus the seat wouldn't decline.

That's the thing. Don't want to pay extra for a ####ty seat. 737-700 is the plane...pretty much standard Westjet anymore I think.

I always find the extra $ worth it Its a night and day difference being able to extend your legs on lengthy trips. Bulkheads cant be booked in advance as the airline needs to evaluate their handicap situation before releasing these.

Depending on the series of aircraft you are flying it differs. The boeing 737 600/700 only have the one emergency exit row. The window seat is the only seat with a short arm rest. But there is still enough of an arm rest to put your elbow on comfortably.
The seats you dont want are the seats in front of the emergency exit row as they do not recline.
The Boeing 737-800 series aircraft has 2 emergency exit rows. the first row only has 2 seats and no window seat. These seats do not recline, nor do the three seats in front of these. The 3 seats on the second row will all recline, and have much more leg room, the window seat still has that short arm rest of the window. However this seat has no seat in front of it and gives you unlimited leg room. Only downfall is you will have to have any bag in your overhead bin, no pocket for storage, and an annoying pull out table opposed to the flip down table on the seat ahead. Also as there is no seat, Your personal TV is a row ahead.

You cannot select bulkhead seats at the 24 hour check in - those seats are typically reserved for wheel chair guests and can only be assigned at the airport during check in (so maximum 3 hours prior to flight)
You can request them at check in!

Interesting. So then in order to get those seats you'd have to whip up to the airport and make sure you're first to check in 3 hours before flight?!

Yea only wing.
Honestly I prefer the very last row of 3 seats, in front on the lavatories. You don't have someone kicking your seat, you can still recline, and get a un obstructed view from the window. Takes ten extra minutes to get off the plane, but thats my seat of choice. Bulk head has crappy pull out tables anyway, so if you want to use the table its uncomfortable.

Quite often they remain open and standby guests get them (assuming there are no wheelchair guests) but yes you could potentially be there 3 hours early to ask for the bulkhead, where are you flying from/to? If its a hot destination I might say do that, but if it is domestic, just ask during your regular check in (EVEN if you've already done the check in and picked another seat - they can move you there)

That's how I got mine. A few hours before my flight was leaving.
