Default Computer Issue: Cannot Connect to Internet

Hello CP Tech Talk Braintrust!

I have an older computer that stopped being able to connect to the net yesterday. I rebooted it multiple times, checked the BIOS settings, reset my modem and router, scanned for viruses... still can't connect. All of my other devices including my newer computer can all connect just fine.

I noted that the lights on either side of the ethernet port are dark. The ethernet on that computer is onboard.

Any ideas on what the problem might be and how to fix it?

Thanks!

probably your nic is dead. You can try to go out and get a nic card and put it in and see if that functions. Go to your device manager and see if there's a driver under network. If there isn't then your system isn't picking it up.

Turned out to be a dead port on my brand new router.
