Have You Seen A Ghost Before
With the what do you think happens after death topic, I was wondering if people have had experiences or have heard others talk about encountering a ghost etc.
Just some interesting stories as I for one have never
I do remember a while back there was a very large thread where people talked about the ghosts at U of C etc....I can't find it anymore now

I had to read the title and the initial post a couple times over to understand what was going on in here.
Yes, I have read about ghosts in stories. I have not seen the movie or the broadway play.

Never seen/experienced anything myself, but I've heard some real dandies.
Girlfriend's sister and her boyfriend were at their friend's daughter's play for school. After the play ended, there were snacks and refreshments served, so the kids got out of their costumes and ate and took pictures with family and friends.
Shortly after people began posing and snapping photos, there was a lot of commotion as one parent showed the picture he took to people. As people gathered, they began checking their own photos and as soon as they saw the same thing and especially when the parents of that particular child also saw the same thing in their photos, the party quickly dispersed.
In every single picture taken, with a variety of locations in which they were taken, one young girl always had a man who was standing right next to her, staring directly at her... expressionless. The man's body was more faint than his face, but his face was of normal clarity.
In each and every photo, from different cameras, from different angles and locations, there he was, just looking at the little girl with a look that just didn't make people feel good.
Pretty creepy if you ask me.

I have one that scared the crap out of me.
I was over at a friend of my girlfriend's house, I didn't know these people that well. We decide to play with a Ouija board that they had in the house, this was one of my first times playing with one. I thought it was pretty cool how the middle piece would move around, but assumed that someone was always intentionality moving it.
After asking a few questions, and talking to the same 'spirit' for a while, someone decide to ask the spirit to give us a sign that they were actually there. There were about 5 of us in the house all in the kitchen, when the stereo in a room that was all the way across the house in a bedroom turned on full blast. All of us immediately ran out the house, and I personally never went back in the house ever again. One of the people that lived there finally had the guts to go inside after about 20mins to go turn it off.
Never saw a ghost at all but that is the closest I've probably come/want to be to the supernatural.

I had a stereo that would do that whn the batteries in the remote would die, so that's one explanation. I think all these ghost sightings can be logically explained somehow. I just don't see how it's possible that ghosts exist.
But interesting thread, will be neat if anyone here has photographic evidence of something they personally saw.

I was living in a house with two roommates and we were playing a game of some sort and all talking. We were all saying that we would hear noises upstairs when we were home alone and downstairs...we all rationally attributed this to old house sounds/creaking of some sort, but jokingly also included a ghost as a possibility.
Perhaps 4-5 hours later we had smoke start coming out of our walls, and realized that there was a fire inside the wall in one part of the house. The fire inspectors later had no idea how this fire was started, as it was inside the wall, away from any electrical lines and in a really tough to access spot. The official explanation was fairly spotty, but they reckoned that the first bit of flame started probably about 3-4.5 hours before we noticed the smoke. This would place it anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours after we joked about a ghost being in the house.
Pretty weird coincidence.

I always think, if ghosts really do exist, they're awful mischievous sorts. Setting fires inside walls, just banging some pots around, trolling in photographs. I mean, really, if you're a ghost, why not do something a little better with your time? Why jiggle a doorknob? Do they just get kicks out of it?

I always wanted to go to the cemetary with a tape recorder and see if I can pick anything up like those paranormal researchers claim to do. No one ever wants to go with me though.

My friend was a security guard at Heritage Park. John Cusak was there one time filming a Western. He heard that the Sandstone House was haunted, and he wanted to see it at night. My friend hid upstairs, and when Cusak arrived, he jumped out and scared the bejezzus out of him.
No ghost then, but my friend did see an apparation one night at the park, floating across the lawn.

My friend's sister swore the homes there are haunted. She said the drapes would be open some days and closed others even though the upper floors on the houses were sealed off. I should probably add that she worked there.

I once saw symmetrical book stacking. Just like the Philadelphia mass turbulence of 1947.

I had moved in with a buddy shortly after his brother had died. I found out that when I wasn't around my buddy would have his brother's urn out; so I suggested that we should bring it out whenever we would drink, and made a point of keeping a full shot glass on top of the urn- so his brother could share a drink with us.
A few weeks after starting this tradition, I got a letter from CCRA- they wanted to see receipts on something I had claimed. Because I had moved into my buddy's house most of my stuff had remained in poorly labeled boxes in the basement. I knew that finding the receipt was going to take hours of going through boxes; and I wasn't looking forward to it.
A couple of days later I come home and see the receipt I needed sitting on the kitchen table. I go to thank my buddy's wife for finding it; and she told me she hadn't. Not believing her I went downstairs and all of my boxes were exactly as I had left them, and no signs that they had been opened and then re-sealed.
Living in that house there were other smaller strange things that would happen; and whenever they did we would just thank my buddy's brother.

There is an old church and cemetary a few miles from our farm. I've suggested the same thing to my wife and she'll have no part in it.
