Leadership
So, anyone who's done a masters degree know some fairly in-depth journal articles about leadership? I know there's ton out there, but I am a bit under time pressure (and yet posting on cpuck so if anyone can recommend a good article that would be awesome. I've read a couple written by Henry Mintzberg (McGill uni), so I am looking something along the lines of manager vs leader, ethical aspect of leadership and such.
Or even if you don't know about any articles, feel free to offer your opinion, does leadership matter, what helped you to be better at it, traits and characteristics that are most important etc.
Cheers

If you want a wierd twist on it, or to draw an example of leadership gone bad, do some research on milinarian leaders. These are leaders who compel people to follow them to a "new way" or the new promised land where society will be different, and then drive it right off a cliff.
Think David Koresh and Hitler.

What kind of leadership are you researching, because there are many areas that you can jump into.
Are you talking day to day leadership in a team dimension?
Are you talking leadership under stressfull or unusual situation
Are you talking political leadership
Are you talking leadership from unusual sources
Are you talking about the abuse of positions?
Oh I'm not a masters candidate but I'm curious because leadership is a incredibly broad term.

Yeah sorry I wasn't more clear, I'm talking about leadership in a business environment (rather than politics/sports/military), actually leadership in stressful and unusual situations is a good topic.
Also I am interested in what makes a good business leader in terms of personal traits and characteristics, if you do not possess what it takes, is it possible to develop such characteristics (or skills, if you will)? Or will you simply remain a pretender? If you were to self-reflect, what would you say makes you a good leader and what would you say makes you a bad leader? I'm looking for more subtle stuff rather than "oh I'm great with people they all love me"

stephen covey's "speed of trust"
and there's another read called followership that discusses the concept with having a team of leaders.

You should go and look through BET.com's white papers on leadership, they have some pretty good papers there.
