In the second move of the day the Dallas Stars acquired scoring winger Dany Heatley from the LA Kings in exchange for wingers Patric Hornqvist, Matt Calvert, 2nd (det 2012) and 3rd (edm 2011).
Dallas is hopeful Heatley is able to bring his scoring touch to the re-tooling Stars lineup. Heatly will most likely play along Stephen Weiss and newly acquired David Krejci.
Thanks BJ for the trade talks and coming up with a starting point for discussions. Really didn't expect to have much of a conversation on Heatley...but funny how things work out sometime.

This was a really fun trade to negotiate; it took some time to hammer out but both parties ended up getting what they wanted. This was a shot in the dark as I was unsure if Heatley was wanted in Dallas but like Rob said, funny how things work out.
Had a few similar offers out there but the sticking point ended up being the CPHL player coming back and Rob had what the Kings wanted.
I like this trade for DAL too, as they are getting the best player back. However, if Heatley wasn't in the Kings plans going forward, might as well get something for him.
