so i heard about this movie, how it's supposed to be considered one of the worst of all time, and i had to find out for myself by browsing some Youtube clips. i wasn't disappointed

i think i'm gonna have to find somewhere to download the whole thing and make a movie night out of it

I posted this in the funny thread when i first saw this movie...Yes, I actually sat through the entire movie, and believe me, it is the FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER MADE. Seriously, the end scene where he commits suicide is the most unintentionally funny scene of ALL TIME.

Check out Obscurus Lupa's review of The Room
Part 1

Part 2

Remember to watch it with friends.

I went to go see the midnight showing at the Uptown a few weeks ago. It's even funnier with the audience participation. SPOOOOOONS!

I've watched The Room a few times and it never ceases to amaze. The dialogue! The acting! The giant fataing plotholes (is Denny ######ed? What happens to the drug dealer? Why doesn't Lisa care her mom has cancer? Why do they put on tuxedos? Who the fata is that guy at the party who suddenly has an opinion?)

This movie is such wretched genius it makes Troll 2 look like Gigli, and Gigli look like Maid in Manhattan and Maid in Manhattan look like ... You get the picture. If you haven't seen it yet, DO. It's amazing.

And who the he'll has sex ON a spiral staircase? I mean, that has to be the most uncomfortable place to have sex ever. God what a great movie.

One of my favorite parts is when Tommy's best friend is telling him a the story about the girl who slept with a bunch of guys getting beat up, and he laughs it off and tells him that was a great story. Oh man, it was such an unexpected laugh out loud scene that everyone I was with laid dying on the floor with laughter. I was struggling for air because I was laughing so hard. We had to pause the movie cause my friend was choking.

As far as I know the movie is only officially screening in the States, but if you could find someone in Calgary who owns the DVD you could probably set up a fan screening at the UofC or something. I don't know first-hand but a friend of mine claims to have been to two such screenings in Vancouver that drew surprisingly large crowds.

Now that I think about it, that would be awesome.

My apologies for bumping such an old thread, but everyone needs to see this movie. I watched it last night and am still laughing over it. The flower shop scene, the scenes on the rooftop, the inexplicable tuxedo football tossing. Watch it with a friend!

Lol, Wiki indicates the budget for the movie was $6mil but only made $2000 at the box office. Money well spent.
