Default Making Gift Baskets

My wife is attempting to make a bunch of gift baskets comprised of some products she is selling. We have located most of the materials (the plastic wrap and stuffing etc) at a decent price, but are stumped on finding some decent looking baskets for a reasonable price.

Anyone know of a place around town, or online, that typically carries these, since if it works out we will need a reasonably steady supply?

Have you tried Michaels, or other craft stores like that?

Yeah, they have stuff but it is really expensive for the purpose. I mean if you have $50 worth of product in a $15 basket, it really cuts into the profit.

I wonder where pubs get their wing night baskets from. There's obviously some company that produces them so cheap that pubs would rather throw out a basket than clean a dish.

I know of 4 palces:

There's the Basket Hut, that's on 3rd, there's Baskets-R-Us, that's on 3rd too, you got Put-Your-Stuff-In-Baskets-There, that's on third, and Swing Low Sweet Basket.
Matter of fact, they're all in the same comlex, it's the basket complex on third.

Gift Baskets? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Gift Baskets!

Rathji, there's four places. There's Baskets-R-Us, that's on third.
There's the Basket-Case, that's on third too. You've got Put-Your-Eggs-In-One. That's on third. No-Funny-Bunny-Baskets.....matter of fact, they're all in the complex; it's the basket complex on third. In the basket district.

Seriously, try Michaels.

Depending on the type of products she may be selling you could try a dollar store like Dollarama. They may have baskets but if not they could have planters shaped like old metal buckets that are kind of kitchy in certain circumstances.

Nothing at the dollar store is any good, I think that is the first place she tried.

You forgot that little place called Mary Ann's Baskets, the good thing about that place is that Mary Ann gets in the basket with you.

Does she need them right away? Maybe your best bet would be to look online.

Edit: This place doesn't give pricing but might be worth a call.

I just searched basket wholesale and came up with a quite a few possibilites

The dollarama at South Trail is amazing. Did you get the plastic wrap and stuffing from there? The fact that you may need a steady supply may rule out Dollarama since their inventory seems to fluctuate all the time. I'm sure as Easter gets closer, they will start to stock up on baskets. I would keep checking there every once in a while.

Michaels is nice but over priced. You would have to use there 50% one item coupon and buy a basket one at a time. When my wife needed multiple cases of a certain type of pencil crayon we ended up doing something like this 10 times before she said we had enough.

Does she want a couple just to get started? We have ended up with about four or so handled baskets (and I think a few without handles) and apart from needing one for Easter, we never use the rest. I can double check when I get home, but I'm sure there's a number we can part with, no charge.

PM me if interested.

I know this only because my wife is a huge fan of Michaels... but if you go to there website they have a 40% off coupon that you can print and use. It is for a single product only so you may have to print a bunch of coupons and go in a few times depending on how many you need. You can get your $15 basket for $9.00!

What kind of products is your wife looking to display?
There may be something better suited and more memorable than a basket for the product.

Just a thought.

i am assuming that you have googled the term basket and none of the 50,000,000 results suited your needs or price range

Yes. You should probably keep your confusion to yourself on this one. I'd erase your post.
