My question is how in the hell does Nascar let Michael Waltrip and Robby Gordon race in something like this knowing they cause a wreck every freakin race? I find it unreal these guys even get a sponsor, every year they go out there and make a fool out of themselves. Congrats to the kid though, awesome!

you should probably edit your title so it doesn't spoil the race for some who may have it pvr'ed and haven't watched it yet.

They will get over it because everything that does anything that represents any type of sports coverage will be talking about this.

The first full NASCAR race I have ever watched and it was a good race. I mean I could have flushed a bag of Skittles down the toilet and it would looked the same but it's not in 5.1 Dolby.

This thread seems out of place here for some reason. Damn.
If only there was a sub-forum... for sports that are not hockey.
Photon, get on that.

I was wondering if there were many fans on here. Brutal race for pretty much all my pools. Almost all my favorite drivers out before the finish. At least there was lots of passing. Thanks god there's 35 more to figure it out.
PS love the skittles comment!

Canadians like NASCAR, but we call it short track speed skating.

If your talking about the Nationwide/Busch series it has, but it a really irrelevant question. There is no requirement to run a specific jr. series so although most drivers cut their teeth there, they can come from all over.
It's a big deal, but considering the luck/skill ratio at Daytona it's hardly a shocker. I'd be more impressed if he won at bristol ar darlington in his first year.

You know its a dumb sport when someone who's only been driving for 4 years can win the biggest race.

no, you can tell how much more important the car is at daytona than the driver.

What a boring race it was though.
Nothing but finding a partner, riding up the butt of the other and then hooking up.

Its called a provision and given the fact that both drivers very rarely finish a race. Ask any Nascar fan.
