Is that the one that's in the hotel?
If yes, I've been there and had mostly good experiences with the comedians.
Ok, that isn't the place I've been to. Please disregard. The one I was thinking of is in the NE.

Actually it is in a hotel haha...
and yeah, I've liked it whenever I've been there but I know they get different comedians all the time so I'm not so much sure it is the club as it is the comedian.

The main acts are generally pretty good - they bring in some good talent.
The warm up acts suck though.

Stick to the drinks... I found the food quite disgusting.

This one is on McLeod Trail. They offer a dinner with the acts.

I plan on going Thursday night. Is it generally pretty busy? I'm big on bringing girls to places with good atmosphere. If it's dead, it could be pretty lame.

Hit and miss depending on the comedian. I've been 3 times I think. 2 times were awesome, and 1 was only alright due to the comedian not exactly sharing my type of humour. The later shows are usually racier, more vulgar, etc.

Your best bet is to check the website to see who is performing the night you plan on going, then Google & YouTube them to see if you'd like them.
Comedy can be hit and miss, it's clubs like this where these guys refine their talents. Generally comedy shows are a good time, however living on the East Coast there aren't many comedy clubs (a Yuk-Yuks opened in Halifax after I moved ) so the comedians I see generally have been around the block and have been touring for a while.
Worst Case Ontario, check with the fine folks on here to see if they know who is performing, or if they were at one of the recent shows.

I went once. The act was so so, the food, it was inedible. Like community hockey arena nachos and burgers. It is really tough to screw up those two items, yet they did. And the drinks were terribly watered down. What you would expect from a comedy club I guess.

If Comedy Cave sucks I believe there's a comedy place in Elbow River Casino and there's a place at the Deerfoot Inn (?) in the NE.

The Comedy Cave is great if you wanna be the only one there..... there is a reason why they give tickets away....
Yuk Yuk's in Elbow river casino has a great buffet, but also once the show is done you have other stuff to do in the casino...... ( My buddy runs it, we were out with Julie last night )
The other place is in Blackfoot inn, they have a larger room so they bring in bigger names, but their normal talent isn't that good....

Make sure to sit up front and let the comedians know that you're on a first date.

Seriously though not a bad idea. It will help break the ice and may provide a lasting funny memory. Unless she's thin skinned.

I went a couple years ago. They were funny, the food was great but the place is a dump. In My Opinion, not a place to take a girl to on a first date.

I've gone there for a couple dates, one was a first date. It was really enjoyable both times. I would suggest that you check out the headliner online, and maybe find some youtube clips before you go. Worked well for me to make sure it'd be funny.
And I didn't eat there either time, just went to a restaurant before so I can't comment on the food part.

Some friends and I try to go once a week. The main guys are usually pretty funny. Some of the warm up guys can be hit or miss. As far as the crowds go it's usually not busy during the week but every now and then you walk into the place and it's just packed. Personally I like the smaller crowds.
Foods OK, it's pretty cheap, $10 per person + drinks and food. If you mention you heard about them on the fan960 you get 1/2 price admission. If you like it enough you decide you want to go back you can get a T-shirt for $20 that lets you in for free on weekdays and 1/2 price on weekends. Definitely not a bad place for a first date.
