Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.
The Following User Says Thank You to HOOT For This Useful Post:
When I was in University I worked as a pizza delivery guy. It was a great job....and lead to myself and my roommate being on a virtually all pizza diet for those years. I kind of long for those days now!
We were far from obese, and in really good shape. I suppose that we were incredibly active in general though, and that obviously helped (along with the metabolism of an 18 year old, as I'm sure that I would be 400lbs to do that now!)
Can the cops actually break into a person's house based on a hunch without a search warrant or probable cause? What if she had indeed gone away for a visit? Who'd have paid for the damages or invasion of privacy? I mean, good on the Pizza lady for being right this time but if she wasn't, there would have been problems...

I'm no expert on Tennessee law but I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. However I'm sure there was more to the story than what was reported. Perhaps they could hear her shouting, or could see her through a window?
It's more of a feel good filler than it is hard news so I'm not surprised all the details aren't in the article.

Just imagine if the cops went around breaking into homes without probable cause. The jails would be full to the ceiling.

For welfare checks, they only need to have a strong probability that an emergency may have occured or is occuring inside the home to enter. No warrant is required. If the Police are incorrect, they still have the duty to ensure everything was okay inside the home as it was reported to them as a potential emergency. I don't believe they can be "wrong" or have to cover any damages in these cases.
Being this woman had a habit of ordering a pizza everyday and missed for a couple days and the fact that neighbours never saw her leave the house, there is enough to believe something may have occured inside the home.
In my neck of the woods, NO ONE makes a better thin crust pizza than Domino's.
When I lived in Pineridge, only AB King Pizza made a better thin crust pizza.
Also...
Police can be absolved of invasion of privacy charges when breaking into a home without a warrant if they have probable cause that there is someone in distress.
Example: If police knock on your door, identify themselves as such, and then hear "Help me! I've fallen, and I can't get up!" from the other side, you're damn right that door is coming down.
