Default 2011 CFL thread

Here's an article I saw on TSN from May 31st, 2011.
Ill be interested to see what it looks like.

Quote:
The Grey Cup will be undergoing a facelift following the 2012 season.

At a press conference promoting the 100th Grey Cup Festival in Toronto to be held in 2012, CFL commisioner Mark Cohon said that the redesign of the Cup is necessary to make room for new additions in the future.

Cohon said that the redesign will be a gradual process and that the new version will be very similar to the old version.

They need more room for some more Rider cup wins. One extra band will last them 200 years.......

And with Fantuz gone to the NFL the Riders might have to rely on a young guy making a difference. Koch maybe or even Sisco.

What was one of, if not the best, receiving cores in the CFL just got taken down a couple of pegs this offseason.

Esks released a handful of players yesterday including WR Jason Barnes, S Elliott Richardson (the kid who had the big day in the NB game) and DB Glover. I wonder if the Stamps look at Glover who might add more depth to the secondary.

Finally a real sport is starting again.

Stamps are the team to beat in the West. I think the Als are going to fall back a little and may be surpassed by the Ti-Cats this year.

Camp starts today, here's to the best league on earth!

I just put this into the Stamps thread.

Forget Glover, the Stamps have signed Saleem Borhot (S-LB) who was cut by the Esks yesterday.

Just reported that the Riders made $6.6m last year. More than double their $3.1m profit last year.

Hopefully most of the other teams are healthy as well. Good to see the CFL flourishing.

Haha. Paycut from being an amateur in College. NCAA is awesome.

Unless you meant the UFL I heard he might sign there. But there is no way he's going to the NFL.

Supplemental Draft. He is a typical NFL QB, tall and can throw. Some team might gamble on him.

He is the exact opposite of a typical qb.

He's tall, but not a pocket passer. He's a great athlete but not football smart and clearly not bright off the field. He doesn't have much armstrenth and is not very accurate.

He will be drafted much higher if he says he's willing to play slotback.

Montreal beat Winnipeg yesterday.

Saskatchewan beat Edmonton 23-22 tonight.

Great to see the CFL back!

How's the experience at McMahon for Stamps games? The Heritage Classic was the first time I went there and if you were there too you will remember the carnage in the concourses!

Any problems getting tickets a couple of days before the game?
