Judge all you want: The Facts of Life, Seinfeld, Friends and Kate & Allie. Dork? I'd say so.

1. Arrested Development - absolutely brilliant comedy. Almost every episode is gold
2. Fringe - Fantastic and complex plots and story-telling, and top-notch acting.
3. Breaking Bad - Two shows in a row with a sympathetic yet sinister scientist named Walt. I love where they're going with this show.
4. Mad Men - Stylish, well-acted. I'm enjoying it more as Betty becomes more of a peripheral character.
5. Futurama - My favorite animated show. In addition to being extremely clever, it also does heart-warming moments better than almost any other comedy. They just need to minimize the musical numbers.
6. The Newsroom - My favorite Canadian show ever, Ken Finkleman's underrated comedy about a Toronto news room.
7. Jeeves and Wooster - Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry at their best, and using PG Wodehouse's excellent books as the source. Also very lavishly and faithfully reproduces the 1920s.
8. Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1984 Jeremy Brett version) - A favorite of mine as a kid, and when I watch them now I'm still blown away by how great Brett's very dark portrayal of Holmes is.
9. X-Files - A favorite from my late-teens, I loved the big plots on this. Like Fringe, the storyline episodes are what makes it great. the Monster-of-the-week episodes, not so much.
10. Seinfeld - Not much needs to be said here. Ages extremely well, with a lot of the episodes still being great entertainment.
Honorable mentions: Mythbusters, Anthony Bordain's No Reservations.

1. The Shield
Simply, the most addicting program I have ever watched. I couldn't wait til the next episode each week. Exceptional characters, great plot lines and perfect casting. BEST TV SHOW EVAR!
2. Dexter
Dexter gets the #2 spot based on the strength of Season 4, which is the single greatest TV season of all time IMO. Fantastic work by Michael C Hall. Great show.
3. Millenium
Supremely underrated. Dark, intriguing, mysterious. Chris Carter's greatest contribution, IMO. It could never step out of the shadow of the X-files though. I actually don't know anyone who remembers this show. Sad.
4. M*A*S*H*
Consistently great. The TV series is so great it really overshadows the movie by quite a lot. I still can't keep from crying whenever I watch the series finale. Did comedy and drama equally well.
5. Twin Peaks
This show was ahead of its time. It should have been a Showtime series. Chock full of David Lynchy goodness, Twin Peaks was a season of brilliance. It went quickly down hill once the mystery of Laura Palmer's death was solved, but the first season is so strong that it saves the series. The movie Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me is a must for anyone who enjoyed the series.
