Edmonton To Refund 'Speed on Green" Tickets
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/st...ts-refund.html
Quote:
Concerns over the reliability of Edmonton's intersections cameras have prompted the province to announce a refund of all paid "Speed on Green" tickets issued from Nov. 2009 to Jan. 14.
The Crown is also withdrawing all tickets that are presently before the courts.
"This is the right action to take," says Alison Redford, Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
"Our first concern is the fair administration of justice, and we cannot proceed with legal action when there is doubt about the accuracy of the city’s Speed-on-Green ticket technology."
On Jan. 14, the city announced it was suspending its green light camera program after some vehicles were clocked at speeds impossible to attain.
Monday's decision effects 102,700 tickets that were paid between Nov. 2009 and Jan. 29, 2011. Alberta Justice is working with the city to determine a timeline and process for issuing refunds.
The decision only affects tickets issued by "Speed on Green" or intersection safety cameras

Strangely, all of the photos displayed a purple Mustang.

I rented a car and they told me it had only 400 kms on it.
Turns out that was the trip odometer, and the actual mileage is about 10k. Boy are they going to be shocked when I've driven 9000+ kms in one day. Imagine how many speed on green tickets I must have by now.

Hopefully they expand this program, I got one just outside of Edmonton while travelling for work, and I could use a few extra $$$
