Yeah, I watch this one too. I keep expecting someone to get annihlated in the octagon, but up intil last night it never really happened. Buddy got WORKED by the crazy yoga man last night, though. Did anyone see the ring girls in the background as that dude was getting windmilled? Hilarious!

I actually tried out for that.
They rejected me, said I was "too good" or something to that effect. They were nice enough to give me an action shot of me in the ring though:

My buddy actually did send in a tape for that show and they wanted him but he couldn't make it to Vegas in time for the tryouts. Plus he would have been too small as there are only middleweights and light heavy weights. I'm really into the show thought. I like Stephan Bonnar and Sam cause they are the only ones that aren't talking trash like bunch of little girls, and I think either of them could have a shot at winning the light heavy weights. As far as the middle weights go. I think if Chris Leiben can calm down in his next fight, he's got a chance, but as much as I hate Diego, I think he's the heads up leader for the middleweights right now.

I've watched every episode, it's totally addicting. The format appears more or less the same as Stallone's The Contender.
Last night was Domingo's second fight, that guy is truly a killer.
I still love the second fight where one guy had to drop 20 pounds in like 22 hours, pretty crazy stuff! I can't believe he did it...

That show is awesome.
Diego absolutely annihalated Josh Rafferty last night. I thought they were going to stop it earlier. Talk about an ass kicking. His face didn't look as bad as I thought it would have when he got up though.
Looking forward to seeing that crazy dude with the weird hair fight. Forrest I think?
Plus I want to see a rematch of Chris and Josh.

Yeah, I think Forrest vs Stephan would be a good fight. They seem like two guys who would just swing for the fences on each other. We've already seen that Stephan has a pretty good chin, I'd be pretty impressed if anyone could knock him out.
Edit: Like I said before, Diego is a pretty good fighter and I think he has a shot at winning it, but the two guys he's fought so far haven't been the best, and he hasn't been hit. I don't think Josh Koscheck would have a shot against him (he can't strike) and although he is a wrestler, I think Diego probalby has the best ground skills on the show, but against a striker with good takedown stopping ability I think he might get into trouble. Again, if Leiben can chill out and stop his takedowns, i think he could knock Diego out. Should be interesting to see who ends up in the finals.
My predictions.
Middleweights: Chris Leiben vs Diego Sanchez (Too close to call)
Light Heavy weights: Forrest vs Stephan Bonnar (Stephan by knockout)

I've never enjoyed UFC before, but I've also been sucked into this show. The first one I saw was when Chris Leiben was being harassed by Josh and Bobby. Man, I so wanted Leiben to kick Josh's ass!
I am anxiously awaiting a rematch.

I've only been watching for a few weeks but it is a good show. Stupid "reality" TV gets me again.
What's the deal with the way and the where of how they live? It looks like a big swanky place from the outside but inside, and especially where they sleep it looks like a rundown crack den. And they can't watch TV or read? Was all this explained in the beginning?
That Diego character has to go to the "Dumb Reality Contestant Hall of Fame". Yikes he's thick. Apparently he's excellent at beating the crap out of people so I hope he doesn't read this site.

No O'haire is not on that show. O'haire made his debut in K-1 fighting a couple months ago and he apparently beat the hell out of someone in his first fight.. O'haire is trained in martial arts and he's about 6'7 of solid muscle, he'd be waaaaaay too big to be on the show, and he'd kill them on top of that..
This is a great show, its really the only show I watch regularly and I hope that Leiben kills Josh koscheck that guy annoys me the most now that Bobby Southworth has been eliminated. Especially since Josh is a terrible fighter, good wrestler but once he gets a guy on the ground he has no idea what to do.. Try and pass the guard, throw some punches don't just hold the guy down.. I kind of hope that next week Josh has to go on the green team and then face Diego from the blue team. Get rid of one of the two guys I despise, leaving Leiben in the top 3. Since Josh is such a good wrestler I think Diego would have trouble getting him on the ground..

ahhhh then it's K-1 that I'm thinking of, and have seen once. Then this I have not.
I did see the O'Haire fight, and it was DOMINANT.
Needless to say, my Urquel face still stands.

They all live in the same house, but not much about it was introduced in the beginning. I believe they're not allowed to leave the house at all, ever. They were let loose on the Hard Rock Cafe one night and got tanked, which caused a yelling match and some near-conflict at the house between Chris Lieben and Josh (?) Koschek and Bobby. Chris and Josh were set up to fight as a result, and Josh beat Chris basically by wrestling him down and holding him the whole match.
Though just last episode Chris was allowed to come back into the competition, I believe because there weren't enough middle-weights on one team or something.
The place isn't too shabby, though Chris Lieben punched out a couple of windows and a door, so you may have seen some shots of the wreckage and interpreted it as a 'crack den'.

It's fun to watch but I really don't like the grappling, ground-fighting which bogs it down and slows the whole thing down but that is pretty much the main focus of every fight. I'm not demeaning grappling, as it's probably the most effective martial art there is.

Yeah all that rolling around on the ground isn't the most exciting thing in the world. I think it's the martial arts version of the trap.
I remember when the first UFC tapes came out. Some of those fights were crazy. Very little "groundwork", very much "punchwork". They'd have guys in there wearing full-on karate outfits, plain old "tough guys" like Tank Abbot in his sweats and Nikes just throwing barefisted haymakers and not much else. Good stuff!

The UFC now is alot more exciting then it ever was. Tank Abbot was exciting, but does anyone remember those long 20 minute snore fests that Royce Gracie was involved in? Nothing but ground work.

I haven't watched a UFC event (outside of the TV show) for several years so I wouldn't know. The whole thing seems rather polished now though. Back then it had a more amateur-hour vibe to it. It was fistfights as opposed to now where it's an actual sporting event with sponsors, rivalries, video games, celebrities, commercials et cetera. Not that it's a bad thing, just different.
I guess I liked the old way.

Pride FC is head and shoulders above the UFC though. For those of you that don't know Pride FC is out of Japan, and is way more exciting than UFC.. The UFC guys that go over there and try it usually get beaten down. Liddell did ok, but he eventually got knocked out. Silva is dominant, and there are guys like Mirko "Cro-cop" who are just insane fighters over there.. If you can kind some footage of Cro-cop knockouts on the net watch them, he is absolutely insane, most of his fights end with the guy taking a perfectly placed kick to the jaw knocking them completely out....

Yup, great link Bean. I was cruising that site a couple days ago and came across Bam Bam Biggalo. Apparently he participated in an MMA match a little while ago, what a moron.
I noticed all the matches for The Ultimate Fighter show are not up, do you know if these matches they take place in count against their record? Or do they just update once or month or whatever..
