Default Need a automotive locksmith

Came home from Safeway, parked car in front of house. Car keys won't come out of ignition switch.

Nevermind. Got one on the way.

Also, check the owners manual. I ran into a ford that did that on purpose. Can't remember why, exactly. But it was a long drawn out process to get it removed.

It's not the steering wheel lock. It's the key itself. Could be bent.

Dropped her off at the Starbucks.

Anyways...

Amazing Locksmiths fixed the problem. Good service. It was a bent key, as suspected.

you need to turn the car off first before you can remove the key.

Not always. I've owned several cars where the key could be removed from the ignition after the car was running. It was a "winter feature" which allowed the car to be started and left running while the same key was used to lock the doors.
