Default Need a good winter jacket

So who's making a good winter jacket these days? Used to have a Board Dokter (RIP) and that thing was awesome. Could wear a single shirt in it in -30 weather and not be all that chilly.

I got a new Columbia Titanium for Christmas a couple years ago and aside from being a good wind breaker, it's blows as a winter coat. It has one of those removeable linings that are anchored around the cuffs and the collar which is annoying as hell as sleeves get bunched up in it super easy when you put it on, taking it off creates a hell of an electric storm. Not very warm and not really all that comfortable either.

So any suggestions? Something waist length, no removelable linging, warm, dry, good for snow sports but could be worn to work occasionaly.

I have 2 winter jacket combos.

1 - I think an exceptionally looking jacket I got from costco for $40. two zippers, looks like it has a liner but its sewn in. I use that for 0 -> -20

2 - I bought a Scott E Vest jacket that is great in summer rains but also great for winter for colder than -20 when I wear a hoodie underneath it.

I think any jacket can be warm when you add layers. For our weather IMO layers are the only way to go.

I just bought one from this outfit, 1 week delivery (mid Dec.) shipping, duty, taxes exchange rate on my MC, all in, $150 for a Columbia Bugaboo parka. I notice the prices have gone up.

I just bought an amazing one at Eddie Bauer. Got it right it after Xmas, and it`s been amazing in this cold and wind. Haven`t worn anything under it but a shirt and toasty warm under it.

I bought this coat last winter. Its very, very warm. Yet it isn't bulky at all. I find that if I wear a long sleaved shirt underneath that I won't be cold at all even in the most frigid temperatures. I had it on on Sunday when I shoveled the driveway in that blizzard and I was sweating like a pig afterwards. I love it.

I got the black coat. In the link it states that only red is available. UA makes good stuff so another style will probably be similiar in a different color.

Did it come with a caribiner/thermometer/knife/whistle/digital clock combo?

I'll probably get mocked for this, but I've got a Ripzone coat that I got a cople of years ago that is far and away the best I've ever had. It is neither too hot nor too cold. -35 is perfectly fine with regular clothing underneath. It's got so many little adjustments that can be cinched up or loosened for different conditions and I love the strechy wrist guards that keep snow from getting between your gloves and your coat sleeve.
