I think the world needs to know what the single most badass song ever is. And it is up to us to find the answer. I will start by posting my selection, the second post will post a challenger, and then the following 50 posts, will determine the winner... or, the mods can make a poll? Mods? Hello?
There are no rules here. If you think your song stands up, be the first in line, and drop the gloves. Make your case, and let the panel decide.
The winner of this round, continues on to to challenge the next song.
I will start by setting the bar high, with what I think is one of the most badass songs ever, Hell Patrol by Judas Priest. Honestly, can you think of anything more badass, than patrolling HELL? I didn't think so. With lyrics samplings such as:
Brutalize you, Neutralize you ,Gonna go for your throat as you choke, Then they'll vaporapeize you.
Seriously, what is more brutal than being vaporapeized? What does that even mean? Whatever it means... it's badass.
With a steam engine like time signature, double guitar attack riff with military like precision, and Halfords piercing lyrics, I challenge you to find a more BADASS song.
Like wild fire
Comes roaring
Mad whirlwind
Burning the road
Black thunder
White lightning
Speed demons cry
The Hell Patrol
Night riders
Death dealers
Storm bringers
Tear up the ground
Fist flying
Eyes blazing
They're glory bound
The Hell Patrol
Brutalize you
Neutralize you
Gonna go for your throat as you choke
Then they'll vaporapeize you
Terrorize you
Pulverize you
Gonna cut to the bone as you groan
And they'll paratamize you
Crome Masters
Steel Warriors
Soul Stealers
Ripping out hearts
They're Devil Dogs
The Hell Patrol
Best hard rock song ever made IMO. Stunning. Punches harder than any heavy metal song can, because it is about real emotion, not heavy metal fantasies. An absolute earthquake of guitar, drums and bass. And in the eye of this storm, there is melody and hooks.
Hell Patrol sounds like something Spinal Tap would come up with as a joke.
I can't think of a more ferocious and exciting song in rock, especially the veering-out-of-control guitar break. Truly astonishing. NilsBielke
this is the most downright bad ass songs of the 90's. get in your car, roll up the windows and turn the volume up as high as it goes. what a wall of sound. prpwinenc
I only do these things to freak you out
I never wanted you to doubt me
I believe you/ do i believe you
I try to block you out to hear myself
I can't believe i'm thinking to myself
Would i leave you/ in such suspense
I let it go and go and go
But what you're thinking through the silence
I really wish you understood
A couple of words get so much mileage
I never felt an urge to say a word
I'd rather listen to the din of
Other people closing in one me/ i lay in bed
And think of words that you should hear
I fall asleep and then they disappear
A fall from grace/ from memory
I hear a voice inside the silence
Speak your peace and all's forgotten
I hear the static on the line
Remember how this all got started
Remember/ remember/ it's tilted
I turn away a minute disappears
I turn away in shame when i don't hear
What you're thinking/ tell me what you're thinking
You take it out on me
You're not flaking out on me, are you
Turn it tilted/ hey wait a minute
I never wanted you to be upset
But i can see you're trying to forget
What was said/ what was said
Don't try to hang me up again
Don't try to hang up on me wait up
The song "Tilted" has a guitar solo that best represents what I love about Bob Mould and his guitar solos. They can sound so out of control that the listener feels like a train wreck is coming and then at the last possible millisecond he come back home tragedy diverted.

The band's lead guitarist, Donald "Buck Dharma" sums up my views quite well with his comments below.
Quote:
The song's appeal is due in part to its use of well-known archetypes in American culture. "The reaper" is a reference to the Grim Reaper, a traditional personification of death in European folklore. Also, songs and poetry pairing "Death and the Maiden" date back to before the Middle Ages.
Lyrics such as "Romeo and Juliet are together in eternity" have led many listeners to interpret the song to be about a murder-suicide pact, but Dharma says the song is about eternal love, not suicide:
I felt that I had just achieved some kind of resonance with the psychology of people when I came up with that, I was actually kind of appalled when I first realized that some people were seeing it as an advertisement for suicide or something that was not my intention at all. It is, like, not to be afraid of it (as opposed to actively bring it about). It's basically a love song where the love transcends the actual physical existence of the partners
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
(We can be like they are)
Come on baby
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby I'm your man
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity
(Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday
(Like Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday
(Redefine happiness)
Another 40,000 coming everyday
(We can be like they are)
Come on baby
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby I'm your man
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew and then disappeared
The curtains flew and then he appeared
(Saying don't be afraid)
Come on baby
(And she had no fear)
And she ran to him
(Then they started to fly)
They looked backward and said goodbye
(She had become like they are)
She had taken his hand
(She had become like they are)

Killing in the Name is amazing, too. I remember moshing to that song when it was a new release. At the time no song got angry moshers dancing like that one.
It sucks for me the only dancing I was ever comfortable doing was moshing and that weird little walk around bobbing your head bashing into people that was a tamer version of moshing. These skills have not served me well as an adult.
My personal choice. Not necessarily on words but on the music tone. Just makes me want to get in a fight. Can't embed as I am at work but I will upon my return home.

Dance With The Devil - Immortal Technique
NSFW!
Hahaha exactly one of the songs I was thinking about. No metal song with its lame abstract lyrics can match the imagery and realism of this Immortal Technique song.
