Default Immersive Sports Venues

Looks pretty wild and looks like it is going to be a big thing. It's like a sportsbook in Vegas on steroids.

This is the secret sauce. Many people probably don’t know this, but Cosm owns a company called C360, which handles video technology for sports leagues worldwide, including pylon cameras for the NFL and 360-degree cameras at MLB games.

Cosm’s venues were designed by HKS, the same architecture firm that designed SoFi Stadium. The setup includes an 87-foot-by-55-foot diameter dome with surrounding visuals and graphics that make you feel like you’re at the game’s location.

The Hollywood Park location (near SoFi Stadium and the Intuit Dome) features 700 seats for attendees inside the dome and room for another 1,000 within the 65,000-square-foot venue. And while tickets for the immersive experience can cost up to $200, depending on the event and not including food, anyone who isn’t able to get a ticket inside the dome can still access it (via standing room only) with an $11 ticket to “The Hall” — Cosm’s version of a sports bar with a 150-foot big screen TV.

I think it is super cool and I'd try it once anyway. I'm trying to decide if it would actually be a good way to watch a game or not.

I found other tweets of action and they do move around to different cameras, but it looks like they are giving you a first row view of a football game. That's probably about the crappiest seat to watch a game.

It would be really hard to follow much of the play at that angle compared to the hundreds of cameras productions we are used to.

This reminds of when the NHL had those games you could watch with your phone as a VR headset. What ever happened to that? I thought it was pretty cool.

It looks like they have normal screens so you can watch replays and the best angle for when you can't see that on the huge immersive screen.

Interesting concept. Needs to have the screen moveable vertically so they can do higher camera positions. I'm not watching a full football game from the endzone view.

They cost like $80 to attend. Food and drinks are probably stadium prices as well.

I would maybe do this once, but damn. People complain about a cost of living crisis then spend their money on this crap

How do you change the channel between plays?
