2018 PGA, Brooke Henderson Is Awesome Thread
Starting a new thread for the calendar year.
Here is an article from PGAtour.com about DeLaet. He recently received a stem cell injection for his back:
https://www.pgatour.com/news/2018/01...treatment.html
Quote:
DeLaet has been working since 2011 with Canadian conditioning coach Dr. Craig Davies, who is based out of Orlando, Florida. Davies told The Canadian Press that DeLaet received acupuncture, dry needling and soft-tissue work, and also underwent several other approaches, in order to play at Quail Hollow.
“Truth of the matter is, all of what we did would have been for not if it wasn’t for the fact that Graham has this playoff-hockey mentality where he can play through a lot of pain that a lot of players wouldn’t be able to play through. And if they could play through it, they wouldn’t have played at the level he could. It’s a massive testament to Graham,” Davies told the Canadian Press.

the guy is a warrior and a Flames fan. Hope he makes a solid comeback.

He's definitely solidified himself as Canada's top male golfer. He's been holding steady around 50 on the world golf rankings for a while now without anyone other Canadians in the top 100, and should be in every major and WGC event this year.

He is and you're right, but for some reason I cheer for other Canadians louder than i do for Hadwin. I think it's because he's a Canucks fan.

Day 1 of the LPGA's season opener is in the books, and Brooke Henderson leads by one after a 5-under-bogey free 68.

Brook is T-1 through 11 on Sunday. She'll be first to finish amongst the leaders.
Weather has shortened this to a 54 hole tourney (if I heard correctly).
So we need her to post a score and then have the wind pick up a bit and see what shakes out

She just fell behind by a stroke after another player birdied. Brooke playing well however.
In tough to win itoutrightl, but good possibility there could be a playoff and she gets in that, anything could happen.

So we had a six hole playoff two weeks ago, a four hole playoff last week, and a minimum six hole playoff again this week. Quite the start to the year for the PGA. Probably wanna avoid a playoff next week though.

Professional golfer Bill Haas was hospitalized but escaped serious injuries following a rollover crash in Los Angeles that killed the driver of the Ferrari he was riding in and injured the driver of a BMW, officials said Wednesday.
The two cars collided in the wealthy Pacific Palisades neighborhood around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Los Angeles police Officer James Stoughton.
A third vehicle driven by actor Luke Wilson was clipped by the Ferrari, Stoughton said. Wilson was not hurt.

Hadwin looked to be having a decent tournament until the 10th hole today. I wonder what the heck happened on the 300 yard par 4.
Shot 7 in the hole
Shot 6 putt 10 ft 6 in., 12 in. to hole
Shot 5 33 ft 1 in. to green, 9 ft 2 in. to hole
Shot 4 24 ft 3 in. to right green side bunker, 28 ft 10 in. to hole
Shot 3 3 ft 4 in. to right green side bunker, 33 ft 3 in. to hole
Shot 2 14 ft 10 in. to right green side bunker, 33 ft 5 in. to hole
Shot 1 290 yds to right green side bunker, 38 ft 4 in. to hole

Number 10 at Riviera is one of the best short holes in golf, such a great example of golf course architecture.

It's one of the more underrated tournaments. Great tournament course and pretty stellar field.

A sand wedge and a 2 putt on 10 on Friday and Hadwin would be tied for the lead right now. He did a nice job of shaking that off and having a nice tournament

The guys were just joking as the contenders have all started struggling on the last few holes - "If you're Adam Hadwin do call it day and head out or stick around and see what happens here?".
He's two back of the lead, one back of everyone but Bubba Watson and guys aren't finishing well. He may move up a couple spots at this point.
Great weekend.
