Default strange video card/monitor/windows 7 problem...

So, when I power on my computer, the bios screen appears (which shows up in color), then the raid card screen, (which has color), then proceeds to the windows 7 flag screen (also in color)

this is where it gets weird.

when the windows 7 login screen appears, it's in color for a second, then goes to black and white. the pic, the text, and the windows flag.

within a second of login, the desktop appears, like normal, but it is also in black and white.

within a few seconds of that, the desktop and everything appears in color again like normal.

nothing has changed at all with this system, just has been doing this for a week or so.

thoughts?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

My first thought is your monitor is dying, you tested it with another monitor/cable/connection type?

The timing you're describing sounds like when it switches to your desktop resolution, you lose color for a bit... I'd say it's the monitor, and recommend trying what Rathji said.

The monitor is less than 6 months old.

Turns out, I uninstalled the vid driver and reinstalled it, and all is OK.

Not sure why it changed, but there you go.

Thanks
