Default Survivorman: Bigfoot

Did anybody catch this series? You can watch it on OLN.ca.

Thoughts? All I ask is that you watch the series before dumping into this thread with belief vs. non-beliefs. I found it interesting, raises some questions. I liked the production value. Anyway, figured it would be good for some discussion.

I'm a HUGE Survivorman and Les Stroud fan. I saw two or three episodes of the Bigfoot series, and it is really good.

He doesn't believe in Bigfoot himself, but he does allow people who do believe to share their opinions on the show which makes for a good show.

Plus there is classic Survivorman stuff like camping alone with minimal gear and filming himself through it all.

I was the biggest Survivorman fan you could probably find. Les' show was authentic and interesting, even if his situations were slightly staged. Oh, and it was actually a real survivor show, not like the crap Bear Grylls pulls.

Seeing Les Stroud do this ridiculous Bigfoot show makes me cry. Legitimately. I am so disappointed that he even set foot in the same world as this guy.

Honest question, did you watch the series?

I watched the first episode. That was enough for me. I was saddened and thoroughly embarrassed for Les.

Only saw the first two episodes that came out last year. Huge Survivorman fan and thought that this was well done. Was concerned that Les had spent a little too much time out in the woods when I'd first heard he was doing this, but when I actually watched it I thought it was very well done.

I liked that he wasn't going out to prove the existence, he's said he doesn't believe or not believe in bigfoot, just that he himself has seen some weird stuff in the wilderness. He's simply going in as a skeptic basically to try and get to the bottom of it

I can see where you are coming from. btimbit above describes what I was going to ask, What episode did you watch? Was it part one of the two-part last year or the Klemtu episode from this year? Just curious as I have read similar accounts from others who hated the 2 part episodes from last year of which I have not watched.

I think the first episode has that image of that weird creepy chimpanzee face who came across a camera set up by his friend. Gives me chills.

I disagree. He didn't damage his reputation with these shows.

I think it was more along the lines of Les really enjoys being outdoors and filming survival situations. Given that this Bigfoot conspiracy is still ongoing, why not do some "investigating" while doing survival stuff at the same time.

He did admit there was some strange-ass stuff going on, and what the hell, it's fun to pretend sometimes. Don't be such a stiff!

I think there is a limit to how many times Les Stroud can do that to his body.

Kudos to the OP for making a thread on this. I've watched the last 2 episodes of the previous season and wondered how much further Les was going to go through with the Bigfoot investigation.

Les was done doing the full on 7 day survivor thing. He said his body couldnt handle anymore of it after the 3rd season so I'm glad to see he's doing something else. Also nice to see that he's got some new toys too like his gopro camera and drone cameras.

Anyways, I want to see more stuff like this:

Lol..those clips. So bigfoot is real. Either its undeniable evidence or its a guy in Chewbacca outfit. I know what I think.

I saw one episode of the show, thought it was kind of cheesy compared to his usual stuff. I agree his reputation takes a hit doing this kind of stuff. Even if you're going to pose the question, collect enough "evidence" to make a bit of an informed opinion rather than telling your viewers some weird stuff was happening because a tree branch broke.

So is that it then ? Les Stroud has proof of Bigfoot? I really liked the Survivorman show but I can't say that I am behind this one..

He's on the fence, doesn't believe or deny. Just investigating this for himself.

Les has never said he has proof. In fact he thinks most of the proof that is out there is hooey.

He's seen every single type of survival situation, and there have been a few things that were unexplained to him, so he figured he'd do another show and see what it's all about.

He can typically make heads or tails of any situation, so it's cool to see Mr Survivorman stumped on a few things.

Just another example of a show or network dumbing itself down to attract viewers, like Ancient Aliens on The History Channel.

Ancient Aliens is quite good! They do make some pretty big leaps but some of the history around the places they examine is amazing at times.

The show they did about Temple Mount was fascinating.
