None other than...the Caravan! Is it car? No. Is it a van? Kind of. It is the Caravan!
White with the faux-wood paneling? Oh yeah. Thats how you knew it was classy.

Now, the real fancy-pants GM customer bought The Cadillac of Minivans:

They really shouldn’t have discontinued the Mazda 5. Tiny vehicle but with more room than any of the RAV4/CRV sized SUVs. It was the size of the original mini vans.

I knew two people who had Mazda 5s; great vehicles.

We had a 1989 2WD MPV. That thing was awesome fun. Fishtailing and doughnuts with 9 people stuffed in it never got old. Sure, the later 4WD models were excellent too, but a bit heavier and never felt quite as nimble.

My parents had a Ford Aerostar when I was young, good memories in that Van.

One of my uncles had an Aerostar (and two Chevy Astros) to shuttle my cousins around in. It was like something out of Blade Runner, so space-agey and weird.
(Underneath it was on the same ladder-frame chassis as a Ranger pickup )

My Dad bought a 79 GMC Vadura in 89 when we moved from Cranbrook to Kamloops to help haul stuff. Officially it could seat 8 people. On a few occasions he hauled 10 kids plus all our gear to out of town games. Only had an 8 track player, so did a lot of miles listening to Stompin Tom Connors. Guys on the team referred to that thing as the Flyin CPR.

Growing up my parents were in a van club. Some day we'll be that cool again.

The OG standard wheelbase Caravan/Voyager was the perfectly sized family vehicle.
I'd love to import one of the JDM mini minivans, like the Honda Mobilio, but RHD is too nerve wracking and the parts availability is too sketchy.

We rented a Chrysler Pacifica in California last weekend and it was awesome.
I'm sure its not even a top tier minivan but still was enough to remind me of van glory.

I rented one of those bastards in Ontario to help a buddy move and that thing is abso-goddamned-lutely brilliant.
Those stow-and-go seats that just get sucked right into the floor and turn the thing essentially into a panel van? Amaze-balls!
What a useful vehicle! Loved that thing. Thoroughly impressed.

Sunnyside baby! And if you’re lucky, once in a while you get to live on the river.
