With Havlat shipped out and 3 long term injuries on forward a deal needed to be made to shore up the forward core
Marek Zidlicky and Eric Nystrom are off to Carolina for Alexander Frolov and Cory Sarich.
In another minor deal the Caps shipped off prospect Brock Beukeboom for Ryan Johnson. This was made to add some depth while the 3 players are out
