Default Want to see a billion dollar 27 story home?

Ambani, his wife and three children have moved into the building which is named Antilia, after a mythical Island. It contains a health club with a gym and dance studio, at least one studio, a ballroom, guestrooms and a range of lounges and a 50 seater cinema.

There is even an elevated garden with ceiling space to accommodate small trees.LINK

I swear he designed it using a tetris game

That is quite possibly the ugliest structure I have ever seen.
Is that the finished product or is in construction like the Death Star in Return of the Jedi?

It's actually a pretty interesting design, and there have been some similar looking highrises proposed or under construction around the world.

In fact right here in Calgary local architect Jeremy Sturgess has a proposal that shares some similiarities with this design, it would be located just west of Macleod right before you cross the elbow river:

The previous picture was a picture during construction. This is the finished product from the street below:

This is the rendering for the finished project:

Built in faraday cage!
It also looks like the 'scaffolding' side will be a trellis for vegetation.

Wealth disparity at its finest. Really sad to see, IMO.

Random question, DrJ.
If Gates, Buffett and Co do as they say and give away most of their money, how much of change will it make in wealth disparity?

I really am curious, as I was reminded of the Stephen Fry debate where he mentioned the Catholic Church could give away all their money and actually help the poor.
