The athletes village is uninhabitable for health reasons, the ceiling at the weightlifting venue collapsed and a walkway outside one of the main venues collapsed, injuring over 20. The Indian media is calling it a national shame.

Canada is threatening to withdraw entirely, as is Wales, while New Zealand is stating the entire games should be canceled.

I wonder if the Brits are going to trash New Delhi the same way they did Vancouver?

The media here have not been kind to the organizers of the Delhi games. I think that the issue with Vancouver was simple - the next Olympic Games are to be held in London and there was a lot of chest-puffing going on, with the 2012 organizers wanting to make it known that the London Games would not have the problems Vancouver had. It was very nationalistic and very annoying. The 2012 committee had better be careful in what they say as the weather during the duration of the London Games might be 14c and pouring rain. That'll learn 'em!
