Default LF: Used Hot Tub - Ideas? Dealers that take trade-ins?

Hey All,

Looking for a used hot tub for my parents. Any ideas? I have heard of people getting good deals from dealers that take trade ins. Anyone know of this in Calgary? It would be sweet if they would also install / service it.

Any experience or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Depending on what you are looking for in size and price I have a hot tub I might be selling due to a move.

You can PM me if you have questions.

Just a heads up because I bought a used one not that long ago and now regret it.

First off - don't pay more than 3K for a used tub. The reason being is there are a lot of brand new tubs out there that can be had for 5 - 6K.

Second - Try to get a tub that's at 5 years old at the most. The tubs when older than 5 years are a lot heavier, more difficult to clean and don't have the features of newer tubs.

Third - Have the tub you're buying delivered if possible. These things are heavy and unless you have 6 strong guys willing to help out then your best bet is pay a few hundred bucks and have it delivered. I'd recomend getting a crane if possible. See if you can find someone willing to do it for a cash deal.

Finally - Make sure you see the tub actually running and working. Play with all the gadgets, lights, stereo etc and make sure it all works. When I bought mine and got it running, I found out the speakers were blown, 2 lights didn't work and there was a problem with about 6 jets. Not good.

First thing you really need to know is: You need to make sure said Hot Tub is also not some sort of hot tub time machine, it may look fun but its gonna get you in a boatload of trouble

Thank me later.

Great advice. Look for Chernoble damage on the circuit board.
