Default The Mayans were wrong. Civilization as we know it to end in 2013

Personally, I blame this on solar warming, and it is probably man's fault too!

Anyone else pissed that we have to wait a extra year for the sweet embrace of death.

Without electricity for any amount of time we're hooped, it gets down to -40 where I am so I hope it happens in the summer.

"Economic and societal costs attributable to impacts of geomagnetic storms could be of unprecedented levels," the report concludes. The cost of hurricane Katrina, estimated to be between $81bn and $125bn, would be piddling when compared to the effect of a "future severe geomagnetic storm scenario," which the report estimates could run as high as $1 trillion to $2 trillion in the first year. Depending on damage, the report contends, full recovery could take 4 to 10 years

So just how serious a threat is this? Or is it being overhyped like Y2K?

Hmmm, I figured I could get away without saving money if the end was coming in 2012. With 2013, I might just have to re-think the way I do things...

I think your plan is still solid. The article doesn't say that the Mayans were wrong, just that electronic devices won't work a year after we're all dead anyway.

No where near what that sensationalist headline implies, but will seriously **** our happiness for a while.

Alright, I read the article. This is very important, so I need a clear response... I may not be able to download porn due to solar flares etc, but WILL THE PORN I ALREADY HAVE PLAY NORMALLY?

Maybe, depending on how it is stored and how it is accessed. Wireless access will probably be buggered for sure.

I would recommend building a bunker, a porn bunker if you will to store all your porn related electronics to prepare for the incoming solar burst.

Make sure your kids and loved ones stay above ground, don't risk the safety and security of your bunker.

You can still get porn, but without technology you will have to get it the old fashioned way and will need some supplies. Speficially, a long trenchcoat, oversized hat and fake moustache. Anything that will mask your identity as you walk into the porn store and buy a couple magazines.
