Default Splinter Cell: Conviction

Out on Tuesday!

It'll help the offseason go by faster

I made a thread like 2 weeks ago and the crowd seemed unimpressed.

It looks fun and I'll probably get it eventually, but I started playing Borderlands again and got hooked again so that'll occupy my time for a while.

Always been a fan of this series and looking forward to it. Hope it's good.

I love the series too and I'm stoked to play it. However, I still have Dragon Age to complete. I'm not even sure how far into this game I am - out of gathering the mages, dwarves and elves I've only done the magi tower so far.

I tried the demo. Couldn't get into the game. It's a pass for me.

I'd like to add that Xbox live has the original xbox version of splinter cell Chaos Theory for 1200 points. For added fun, the video game podcast Rebel FM has a Splinter Cell Chaos Theory game club going right now. It's a cool way to play the game to a certain level and then listen to the pod and hear how they did it and other funny stuff.

Rented this today. I'm big fan of the series. My favourites were the first game and Double Agent. This one is vastly different from the rest of the series. IGN does a good job of reviewing some of the differences.

The main thing I've noticed is how much faster everything this. There also seems to be less of an emphasis on stealth and more on the 3rd person shooter aspect of the game. It's almost like a cross between Splinter Cell and COD.

The graphics and animations are top-notch, but they've taken a lot of the mini-games out, such as the hacking, cracking safes, picking locks, etc. It's a lot less of a puzzle and more of a shooter. Pretty cool, but I think DA was a better game.

Yeah I read that too.. they said the game is fast, and really even on hard it's not that hard they said, Sam is just so good.

Which means I won't like it as much, I liked the sneaking and peeking under doors and using the sticky cams and stuff.. all of that is pretty much gone (or not meaningful) here, not when you get a device that's basically a wallhack.

I heard the campaign is 5 hours. I'm excited for the game, but I have been ripped off too many times in the past (the game will drop to $40 in like 3 weeks).

Saw the commercial the other week, I know nothing about Splinter Cell but it looks very interesting. However, is this only on Xbox?

$9 to RENT a game?!?!? Wow that just shows how long it has been since I rented a video game.

For how much I actually play video games this is the type of game I wait to buy used for $20 at EB when Winter hits.

What, have a raging drug habit that most of your money goes to or something?
