Default What happened to Monoprice?!

Did they hire someone from the "make your money off shipping" school of eBay or something?

Shipping is reasonable until I hit 5 lbs, then it jumps by $10, just adding one RCA cable!

I keep adding cables, and the shipping price keeps pace with the actual price, so $40 in cables is going to cost me $40 in shipping too!

What happened to you Monoprice. You've changed, man.

It might actually be cheaper to buy my cables locally now.

That is not good. I hope my parents buy a house in Arizona so I can use them as a US address.

I wonder if that whole credit card thing was just a simple reason to bring down the website and changes the fees, then hope no one would notice.

I'm a bit PO'd, because I put off ordering cables, now I'm stuck.

Why don’t you email them and ask them? Almost sounds like it could be a bug in their shipping calculator algorithm.

Yes, scaring your loyal customer base off with the possibility of credit fraud is a great way to grow your business.

I ordered from them 2 months ago and thought the price of shipping was a little higher then it should have been. Still cheaper then going to Future Shop or something.

I guess the good thing about the internet is that there is always somewhere else to go...

http://www.infinitecables.com

Within Canada, cable prices are almost the same for what I was looking for (DVI cables, USB extension cables), shipping $10 vs. $40 from Monoprice.

No idea of the quality though.. not much feedback on them from RedFlagDeals. Guess maybe I'll give them a try.

I would assume that it comes from the same manufacturer.

Not all business owners think logically!

Lol, the receiver on my living room TV is pretty old and doesn't decode much beyond Dolby surround, while the Blu-Ray player I got can decode almost anything.. but the only input I can use on my receiver to get that is the 5.1 analog inputs, so I need 5 RCA cables.

I ordered a bunch of iPhone items in December (4 cables, 3 sets of headphones, 2 lighter adapters, 1 silicone skin). The total was 19.31 + 5.59 shipping, which I thought was reasonable. I just entered all the stuff again online, and products are all the same price but the shipping has gone down to $4.61.

This seems reasonable to me.

I use to buy my stuff here a long time ago, B&E electronics
http://www.be-electronics.com/

I would solder my own cables back then. Anyway, you can check them out. I think you need an account, not sure if it cost anything. I used my friends account when I went.

Why, it's a high quality amp, and it's only for my downstairs TV, not my full home theater. The quality will be better if I have my Bluray decode DTS HD or whatever and send that a short span analog to the amp vs. decoding Dobly Surround.

Dealextreme doesn't have the cables I need, and everywhere else I check is about the same price once I take Monoprice's crazy shipping into account, even just stopping at Memory Express is only like $10 more.
