Default Boxing Day 2009 Discussion

Seeing as flyers and deals are being leaked already on some websites, should be a good time to start discussing. What are you looking for if anything?

Hoping for a PS3 deal

I'm in the market for some new hockey gloves, pants & elbow pads. Any rumored deals at Pro Hockey Life / Sport Check?

the deals kinda suck this year, there were some pretty good deals all year this past 12 months anyways due to the recession. Once I've discovered RFD years ago I haven't felt the need to go boxing day shopping ever since.

The pre-christmas sales were awesome this year. I am done all my shopping, and will be relaxing all day on the 26th when people are standing in line for 10 hours waiting to get 200 bux off on an LCD TV.

I desperately needed new dress clothes for work and had set aside $1000 dollars for it on boxing day. I went to Sears for some drill bits a couple weeks ago, and they had their entire menswear dept 50% off or better. I was picking up $80 dollar shirts for $20-25 bucks, and my favorite Haggar pants that I normally go for $70 for 30 bucks. I spent my $1000 and ended up with about 25 shirts, and 15 pairs of pants and my drill bits.

At that moment however, I had realized that I have officially stepped into middle age.... I was excited over a deal on slacks....at Sears.

Just using the word 'slacks' alone qualifies you for middle age!

I'm hoping that doesn't mean middle age, because I've had that moment too!

With so many people giving gift cards these days, it seems like retailers have no incentive to run big sales after Christmas, other than the "for show" door crashers on Boxing Day.

I agree. Boxing Day is becoming massively overrated. Here in Lethbridge, I find that aside from door-crasher items, most products are priced the same or higher than normal on Boxing Day....
