Avs and Blues make blockbuster

just kidding, not a blockbuster but one of the biggest deals made for awhile

To Avalanche:
Andrew Ference
Phillip McRae
Stefan Della Rovere

To Blue:
David Moss
Kent Huskins
Matt Calvert

I have the world junior fever here and it will be nice to watch Della Rovere and McRae.

This is another move for the rebuilding process, with Wayne Simmonds playing pretty well for his NHL club I figured Moss was expandable for my Top 6 next year. Ference will help with my D core for next year who will be made up of:
Mitchell - Redden
Brewer - Havelid
Ference - Oystrick

A pretty veteran group of d-men who will hopefully be a nice balance with all my youth up front. Heck it might even help me keep some pucks out of the net this year as well.

We wanted more scoring and we hope Moss will help out. We had alot of veteran D men and Ference was a 5-6 guy for us so he was easy to move. The kids were a bit tougher to move... but getting Calvert helped out. He's got 43 points in 29 games for the Wheat Kings and was with the Blue Jackets to start the season before they sent him back to Jr. Huskins is a warm body to play the #6 position for me

I like the Blues side a little more personally; 2nd round draft picks are long shots and Ference is a 5th/6th d-man who is replaceable. Moss doesn't have a ton more upside granted, so all-in-all its pretty even asset wise.

Good to see some trades starting to happen now.
