Default Lost Word document

I know you're supposed to save, save, save. Lesson learned, I guess.

I spent an hour working on a Word document for work. I leave my computer for about 45 minutes and come back and the entire doc is gone.

Is there any way I can retrieve it? What could possibly happen that a document would just disappear like that?

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I can recreate the document but I was rolling and it was really good, plus I just lost an hour of my life.

If you buy a Mac, your lost Word document will be on it.

What do you mean by "gone"?

Did your computer crash? Did it shut off? Did you come back to see MS Word open but just a blank document visible? Did you save previously in a known location and then it's no longer there?

http://www.amset.info/tips/office-recovery.asp

depending on the version...

if this isnt it, just google "office (version) temp file location under (your operating system)"

usually these files are hidden, so you may need to 'show hidden files' under explorer to see them.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I didn't shut the comp off at the time but it is now. I left and the doc was gone and the blank doc was up. I didn't save it anywhere. There was no crash.

If you left your machine unlocked, its quite possible someone just closed word on the way to the browser to check their facebook or scores or whatever...it happens!
