Regardless of the movie, I doubt his kids have anything to worry about on the money front.

I personally don't care who gets the profits. The guy's legacy (besides being creepy as hell) is that he's been exploited by his family all his life. That wont change in death.
I've never really cared about celebrity life and the inner workings of the entertainment industry, but since I love his music, this movie is a must see for me.
This'll be my first time in a movie theater in at least a year or two.

#1 peeve of the new age theaters.. people texting during movies.
It is just as bad, if not worse, than talking on your cell phone. That ultra bright screen just burns my eyes and is a huge distraction.
Back on topic, I haven't seen it yet but have heard good things from non hadcore MJ fans, I will be checking it out at some point myself.

I think alot of people are going to boycott the movie because of this. I'd like to, but I can't. I have to see it.

I'll be boycotting the movie just because I can't support/love the music anymore the way I did when I was a kid and had a huuuuuge crush on MJ. The fact that he paid families off to keep quiet about what he did to their children (whether guilty or not) tainted him to me for the rest of time. I just can't take all the sainting/glorifying of MJ now that he's dead.
It's a personal thing clearly....I have friends who've seen it and loved it so those who are fans will no doubt enjoy it.

I've heard nothing but good things from people that have gone to see it. Granted they were all MJ fans. So, I guess that doesn't really help answer your question 4x4.
Feel free to let us (the people who want to see the movie, regardless of who it's profiting) how you found it?

I don't believe anything the father says. Follow the money, to know the truth with that dirtbag.
Anyway, I won't be seeing it.

I loved this movie. Saw it opening night...you getta see what kinda genius this man was. I do think it is well worth watchin if you are a fan of his music or even his performances. Makes me sad to see since I had tickets to the show also

I think this movie is unnecessary. There's no preservation of his legacy by releasing it - he's already had music videos and (short) films, not to mention an uncanny number of goods and merchandise released over the years. There is nothing different about this whatsoever.
IMO, this is simply another money grab to those who feel cheated by not reaping massive ticket and merchandise sales before he could start on his "This is It" tour, but I digress.

As much as I know this is a cash grab, I think it'd be interesting to see just what MJ had in store for his concerts. It would have definitely been quite an event, that's for sure. The guy was one hell of an entertainer. I don't think I'll be going to the theatres to watch this. But eventually I think I would be interested in seeing it on DVD.

My wife saw it and said it was excellent...and she wasn't an MJ fan. She really appreciated his talent and the way he related to his fellow artists. It was obvious they held him in very high esteem.

The movie was awesome. I was going to start a thread after I saw it on opening day but figured it would just turn into a MJ hate fest.
I am going to see it again this week. You can tell by the way he talks and acts that he is still just a kid in his heart and mind.
Anyone who is a fan of his music should see this movie. It amazed me a 50 year old man could move as well as he does. I don't even think I could pull half off the stuff he did and I'm half his age.
Amazing man with an amazing talent. The way he hears and sees the music just blows my mind. He knows every tiny thing about his music and wants it to be perfect. I truly believe he was doing this last concert as an encore, not a money grab. Too bad he had such a weird personality.

It was actually really good, I wouldn't call myself an MJ fan either.
The movie was basically a big behind the scenes of what goes into producing a concert (One of Epic proportions). I found that quite interesting.
Also interesting to see how involved and particular MJ was at every little detail of the show.

I really kind of hate it when people make statements like "This is just a big cash grab".
Well of course it is. So is every other piece of entertainment material ever releasted.
No one was saying that "The Dark Knight" was just a cash grab. But it was made with the same singular intention as "This Is It", and that's to make money.
I'd say that there is a strong inverse relationship between someone's interest in a piece of entertainment, and their likelyhood to call it a "Cash Grab".

I would much prefer to see a movie about Meatloaf....but meh. All joking aside, no, no chance in hell I see this movie.
