Default Canada Post

I've written this thread about three times, but never posted it because I anticipated the usual "suck it up" response, but this is really starting to piss me off. Seeing as how the only mail that I typically receive is financial type stuff, I'm pretty anal about whether I'm getting it or not. I've not gotten a few bills and a few bank statements over the year I've lived in this building and I know exactly why.

I get mail for the guy with the same apartment suite number, except different building number and street number - all the time. Like 3 or 4 times per month.
Bank statements, his registration renewal, credit card statements - which means that he must be getting some of mine.

A few months ago, I went over to that building and buzzed the suite and got no answer, so I taped a note to his mailbox with my number and a message to call me, but he never did.
So I asked my sister to look for him on facebook, but he's not on there either, so then I sent him a letter telling him that I was receiving his mail and that we should just contact each other in the event that we receive the other guy's mail, but he never called me. Guess why? Because I got the F'ING letter in my mailbox!

Seriously, Canada Post sucks donkey balls. How incompetent can you be? Lazy, useless union workers.

If you are having that much of a problem you could always get a PO box at your local post office outlet.

It will cost money and you'll have to go pick up your mail all the time inside a store (usually inside a drug store) but it might be worth the $60 or so per year to get all of your mail.

If not for the existence of the Newman character, I'm sure this would have been a Seinfeld episode at one point or another.

There's a complaint form on Canada Post's website you can fill out.

I also had a moronic mailman for the longest time, until I filled out that form three times. Then magically, I got a mailman that could comprehend addresses.

Part of the problem is these idiots don't read the address on the mail. I kept getting mail from some person that has an address similar to mine. We were always exchanging mail. Eventually Canada Post replaced the dufus and magicly the problem was solved.

The guy who subs on my route likes to fold things that are nearly impossible to fold and stuff them in the mailbox. It takes less effort to walk up to the customer's door!!

Jerry: I've been trying to jam stuff in the box, like you told me, but sometimes it says, "Photographs - Do not bend."
Newman: "Do not bend?" (laughs) Just 'crease, crumple, cram'; you'll do fine.

You probably still have to work for a living. Here, in all of the new developments, all of the mailboxes are in one specific spot:

so no door to door is required (they will for parcels and such but no regular mail).

I complained a number of times as the guy who delivers ours liked to fold my magazines in half. It only took about 5 complaints for it to stop.

Off Topic: Does anybody know if it's possible to receive mail to your super box without using your street address.

i.e. Box 3-1??

Default not always bad

I don't think this is always a bad thing. The girl in the suite across from mine was hot and I was always looking for a reason to speak up. One day I got home from work after a 12 hour shift and got her mail was in my mailbox. So being the nice guy that I am I slid it under her door. Just as I heard her walking to the door to pick it up I realized what I had done. Could be one of the worst things I've done in my life. It's too late now and I don't know any way I can turn back time. Would have to wait for the next opportunity or hope the mailman made the same mistake again.
