This one is a cap hit as well, I knew that when I signed him... he was 50/50 then and had already been through the do I retire last season... with the Cup and a diminished roll, I'm not surprised
1.4M x 40% x 2
= 1.12M cap hit

I was riding the tightrope since i signed him of should i waive him or not... decided in the end the 1.12 cap hit wasn't as bad a loosing him to waivers and not retiring

1 million in cap was well worth the risk of keeping him IMO. I would have done the same.

e, I just lost my top two defenceman in 24 hour span... thank god I had a crappy D anyways, nobody will notice a difference

I still have Chelios that is a retirement risk as well, with his desire just to be one of the boys and play hockey regardless of the role... I personally think he'll play in Europe just not to walk away, well I'm banking on it
