Anyone had luck getting standby tickets to the tonight show?

I'm heading down there next month, but it looks like I've missed the ticket lottery for the week I'm there.

For standby I'd have to show up sometime before 10 AM to get a number, then come back at 3 30 to wait in line...I'm worried it will be a waste of a day....

Has anyone tried this? Should I?

Not the Tonight Show, but I was in the standby line for Letterman years back. They handed out tickets at around 5:30AM, my brother and I got #9 and #10 and came back later in the day for the taping like you mentioned.

They told us that everyday an average of 10 people in standby get in so I thought our chances were good, that day no one got in.

No idea as I got the tickets in the mail. If you get to be in the audience, it is a great show. The Tonight Show kicks The Late Shows @$$. You'll be laughing your butt off. Jay Leno is the man!!! I know Conan is the new host. You don't have to tell me

Yeah I went one year. Just waited around till we got tickets. It was fun. The show is exactly one hour long.

We tried for Conan last year. First try we got there at 7am and were 14-18 in line. They only let in like 8?

Tried a second time and got there before 6am and were 1 and 2 in line. They ended up letting in over 20.
